名词所有格的用法
一、名词所有格的用法和含义
名词所有格是用来表示人与物、物与物之间的所属拥有关系的,翻译成“...的...”。
二、名词所有格的种类:
第一种是在名词词尾加“'s”构成:多用于表示有生命的东西
第二种是“of+名词”构成的:用于表示无生命的东西
第三种是双重所有格
三、名词所有格的构成:
一般情况在单数名词词尾加 -’s
e.g. the boy’s mother男孩的妈妈;China’s population 中国的人口
以-s结尾的单数名词加 -’s
e.g. the boss’s order老板的命令; the hostess’s photo 女主人的照片
以-s或-es结尾的复数名词只加 -’
e.g. two hours’ walk步行两小时; ten hours’ trip 十小时的旅程
不规则复数名词在词尾加-’s

四、名词所有格的用法:
(1)主要用于表示人或其他有生命的名词,表示所有关系、类别、用途、目的或起源。
e.g. Is this Mr. Black’s office 是布莱克先生的办公室吗
I took over my father’s company last year. 我去年接管了我父亲的公司。
children’s bookstore 儿童书店
(2)由and连接的两个或多个名词,表示共同拥有时,只将最后一个名词变为所有格形式;如果是各自所有,则每个名词都要变成所有格。
e.g. John and Mary’s school 约翰和玛丽的学校
John’s and Mary’s school 约翰和玛丽各自的学校
(3)有时为了避免重复,可以单独使用-’s所有格,在句子中相当于名词
e.g. My view is different from my father’s.
(4)用以构成不同的节日:英语中可用-’s或-’表示节日
e.g. April Fool’s Day 愚人节; Children’s Day 儿童节; Teachers’ Day 教师节
四、of所有格:名词+ of +名词
(1)表示无生命的东西
e.g. the top of the hill 山顶 the cost of living生活成本
(2)表示部分与整体的关系
e.g. the bottom of the sea 海底
五、双重所有格:名词 + of + 名词的所有格/ 名词性物主代词
双重所有格中of短语所修饰的名词通常有表示数量的限定词,a, an, one, two, some, several, a few, many, any, no等

a photo of me 一张我的照片(照片上的人是我 )
a photo of mine 我的照片中的一张 (照片的所有者是我,照片上的人不一定是我 )
a friend of my father 我爸爸的朋友(强调朋友关系)

Cooking with my mother is a wonderful memory for me. It brings me warmth and love.
