1.Guiding theories
This lesson is based on the Core Competence of English Curriculum,the Activity-based Approach to English Learning and Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning.
2. Analysis of students
Since the students have learned to describe the appearance in Grade7(Unit9 What does he look like ),the personality in Grade8(Unit3 I’m more outgoing than my sister.) and the ways to talk about changes in this unit,students are familiar with the topic and they have known some words and expressions.But they may lack some abilities in organizing the writing and polishing the content and languanges.
3. Analysis of the teaching content
The topic of the writing is “How I’ve changed”. It shows how to describe changes in differents aspects like appearance, personality and hobbies. It also requires students to write about the most important change and give reasons. It is a little difficult for most students, so I use it as“can-do homework”.
4.Expected important and difficult points
The important points of the course lie in making the structure of the writing .
Another important point is to guide students to use what they have learnt in polishing the languages. Students may find it difficult to giving examples for their ideas.
5. Teaching objectives
1) Learn to make a suitable structure for a writing.
2) Learn to extend ideas about change.
3) Know more ways to improve the languages in the writing.
4)Raise the awareness to change and make yourself better.
6. Teaching method
Task-based language teaching is applied in this course. Several meaningsituational and communicative tasks are designed to improve students core competence.
