Analysis of material 1.The main content It focuses on the choice of career. This play talks about that father and son have differences and conflicts over the son’s future career plan due to their different positions, and finally reconciled by the grandfather. 2.The type of the text The genre of this text is a play. This play This passage is written in chronological order as a bright line, divided into beginning，development，climax，ending of the play. And it is written with an emotional thread as a dark line. 3.The purpose of the text By understanding and analyzing the text, the students will realize that different people have different personalities, and learn to communicate when there is conflict.
Analysis of students Student status Merits: The students are similar to the play of family conflicts, so students are active and curious the play about family conflicts caused by career choices. Shortcomings: They don’t understand the structure and elements of the play. Solutions: Teacher shows the structure and elements of the play to students and encourage students to take part in the class actively.

Reflection
According to the teaching design, the teaching of reading will be done in a flexible way. This lesson focuses on the family conflict about choice of career. Most of the students can involve in the class, but some of them still dare not to speak. The teacher should encourage students to speak more and gain more confidence from learning English.
