Growing Up
Growing up is like a long journey. During my time in middle school,
I've had both happy and sad moments, but each one has helped me grow.
When I first started junior high school, I found math really hard. I
often felt sad and I thought I couldn't keep up. Specifically, there was a
time when I failed several tests. But my math teacher, Ms. Lee, noticed
me and offered extra help during lunch breaks. She gave me the chance to
express my feelings. She tried to understand me first, and then found the
answers to my questions with me. She helped me form a study group with
my friends. Then we reviewed together and encouraged each other. With
their support/help, I slowly began to understand knowledge better. It
made me realize that I can overcome any challenge by working hard.
There were also times when things didn't go as planned. Sometimes,
I felt like I wasn't doing well in school or that I couldn’t get along with
my friends. But these moments taught me that it's okay to make mistakes
and I don’t need to be perfect all the time. They made me stronger and
more thoughtful.
One big change for me was becoming more outgoing. In the
beginning, I was shy and didn't talk much in class. But as I met new
friends and joined more activities, I started to feel more comfortable
sharing my ideas. I learned that it's important to be confident and to speak
up for what you believe in.

In short, growing up has been a mix of good and bad experiences,
but each one has taught me something valuable. I've learned the
importance of working hard. I’ve learned that it's okay to make mistakes,

Sangam was 9 years old, living in Bangalore city. One thing about him worried his parents:
He could never be punctual (准时的). Every day he used to get up late and sometimes ended
up missing his school bus. He was the last one in the class to finish his lunch at school and com-
