Lake District National Park
Lake District National Park is in the north of England. It is England's biggest national park. It is very beautiful, with hills, lakes and forests. Most visitors enjoy walking around the lakes or climbing up the mountains. The highest mountain in England is in Lake District National Park. On a clear day, you can see a long way from the top of the mountain. Walkers have to be careful because the weather can change suddenly, especially in the mountains.

宾语从句是指在句子中充当宾语的从句，在主句与从句之间有一个引导词。这里我们要注意 that 引导的宾语从句。

that 引导的宾语从句记忆口诀：
宾语从句三注意，时态、语序、引导词。
主句若是过去时，主从时态要一致。
宾从表达是真理，只用一般现在时。
还有一点要说明，陈述语序要记清。

that 引导的宾语从句由陈述句转化而来。
e.g. He says. He is listening to the weather report.
→ He says (that) he is listening to the weather report.
他说他正在听天气预报。

(1) 主句的谓语动词是 think，hear，hope，wish，know，say 等时，常接that 引导的宾语从句。
e.g. I hope (that) he will be fi ne soon. 我希望他很快好起来。
(2) 主句由“系动词＋形容词”构成的“系表”结构，常接 that 引导的宾语从句。这类形容词有 happy, glad, pleased, sad, afraid 等。
e.g. I’m afraid (that) he can’t come. 恐怕他不能来了。

主句用一般现在时，从句可以用符合句意要求的任一时态。 He says（that）they have returned already.
他说他们已经回来了。
如果主句用一般过去时，从句要用过去的某种时态。 He said（t hat）he bought a new dictionary.
他说他买了一本新词典。
如果从句表达的是客观事实或真理 , 尽管主句用一般过去时，从句也要用一般现在时。 Our teacher told us that the earth is round. 我们老师告诉我们，地球是圆的。

【点拨】that 引导的宾语从句表达的是客观真理，所以不受主句中的一般过去时的限制，宾语从句仍然用一般现在时。

that 引导的宾语从句的否定前移。当主句的主语是第一人称（I, we），而且谓语动词是think, guess, believe, suppose 等时，如果宾语从句要表达否定意思，一般会否定主句，而不否定从句，即“否定前移”。
