A yearly event in the Florida Keys,Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival is open to divers(潜水者) who enjoy music performances and watery wildlife.Like a scene out of a Disney movie, you’ll find yourself dancing with a group of fish at this festival! Previous shows have also seen many talented musicians.
Since 1985,there has been a July weekend set aside for jamming out underwater in the name of protection. It’s an amazing combination of music and nature.Event co-founder Bill Becker said,“This festival is an energetic way to celebrate the coral reef, and we celebrate it by looking for a balance between the protection work and public enjoyment.”
The festival gives ordinary people an opportunity to experience the reef like never before. Those who attend it leave not only with fun memories but also with lasting appreciation for this precious environment and the desire to take action. This leads to improved management of the Florida Keys.
Among the continental United States,Florida is the only state cool enough to have its own coral reefs just off the coast stretching(延伸) out for an impressive 360 miles. However, with a great reef comes great responsibility. As reefs around the world continue to decrease,Florida is still able to provide food and shelter for a number of threatened and endangered species. The shallow reef acts as a natural barrier(屏障) against storms and flooding, and maintains a healthy population of fish for catching.
Factors like ocean temperature, pollution, and disease could threaten corals. Many types that make up Florida’s reefs are on the threatened species list.Thankfully, fantastic events like this festival are met with positive reaction and win support for protection. The festival serves as a wake-up call for people to realize the important role they can play in protecting the species. In addition,it reminds communities of the necessity of restoring these vital ecosystems for future generations.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employees over 50 make up more than one-third of the workforce in the United States. And the labor force aged 75 and older is expected to increase by 96.5% by 2030.As the workforce ages and increasing numbers of grandparents care for their grandchildren, what once was intended for new parents is now applied to grandparents. Some workplaces are offering a new paid leave policy(政策) for older workers—grandternity leave.
As the name suggests, one of the most popular use cases for grandternity leave is employees taking time off when they become grandparents to help care for their grandchildren. It also enables employees to take paid leave to deal with medical treatment, spend time with their families, and take time away from work as needed.
In a competitive labor market with more than 10 million open jobs, employers still struggle to retain senior employees. These employees fall under the Baby Boomer generation and are characterized by their deep love for work and company responsibility. They are prized for their historical knowledge and old-fashioned work ethic(职业道德).Therefore, employers are seeking new, nontraditional benefits for these employees to prevent them from taking another job.Grandternity leave is just one example of personalized benefits suitable for older workers.
A handful of companies are already starting to offer their own form of grandternity leave. For example,Saga has rolled out a five-day paid grandternity leave to its 2,500 employees.Scott Merry,a 57-year-old IT specialist with Saga took grandternity leave to care for his new-born grandson.“It was just wonderful. It’s nice to work in this type of culture which values family time,” he said.Another company that became an early adopter(使用者) is HireVue.“Attracting and employing a various workforce should be top of mind for any organization,” said one of HireVue’s managers.“Offering a variety of benefits like grandternity leave is key to that.”

A.Its application. B.Its influences.

Becca and I met in my first year in college at a craft(手工艺) fair where I was eyeing a bag. She’d noticed me holding it against myself. The bag had a special design that made it seem impractical for me.
“Go for it,” I heard someone behind me say.I turned and saw a lovely girl with a bright smile.“Just get it as long as you like it.Life is short,” she added.I was charmed and bought the bag. That was the first risk that Becca encouraged me to take.
Though we came from different backgrounds,we soon became friends. We often went out together, texted each other and shared our daily lives.Becca made me take a craft class and join several book clubs with her. Then, one day,she told me that she was sick.Having been suffering from back pain for months, she was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic(胰腺的) cancer. She was informed that the disease is hard to treat and has a low survival rate. All of Becca’s family and friends, including me,were heartbroken.
Despite the sadness around her,Becca still threw herself into living. She kept walking outside on nice days and reading books on crafts when she was in the hospital bed.Even when she was in great pain, she still managed to text me back and cheer me up.
We held on to hope that a miracle(奇迹) would happen, but it didn’t.Her condition worsened rapidly. After she died,it seemed that I could still hear her voice in my ears,so I still texted messages to her number. In those moments when I felt lost,I expressed my feelings in the messages as if she were still there, spreading her positive spirit. One day, unexpectedly,I received a reply. It turned out to be a message from Becca’s family, which included a link.I clicked on it and entered a post about a charity event in Becca’s honor. It was an upcoming charity sale organized by her family to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research.
注意:续写词数应为150个左右。

第二节 参考范文
Without a second thought,I decided to contribute to this meaningful event.I gathered some books, handicrafts and other things that held value for me.Some of the items were handmade by Becca and me when we were in the craft class. They carried our happy memories.I was sure they could serve a new purpose.I contacted Becca’s family and told them about my donations. Her family were thankful and expressed their determination to do something meaningful in the name of Becca.I was greatly touched and decided to go to the charity sale in person.
On the day of the charity sale,I looked gladly at the tables filled with donated items.People from all walks of life came together to support the meaningful event.Watching strangers find joy in the items I had once cherished,I felt a sense of satisfaction. When I was helping with the sale,I noticed a collective desire among people to make a difference.Delighted by the success of the event,I believed Becca’s spirit was with us and that more people suffering would be saved. The valuable experience also inspired me to embrace changes and live my life to the fullest.
