能力目标 1. Recognize and speak out the words about kitchen knife maintenance, such as: dull, safe, electric knife sharpener, etc. 2. Imitate and speak out the key sentences, such as: (1) ---What shall I use to sharpen the knife --- You may use … (2) ----What else can I use to sharpen my knife ---you can also use an electric knife sharpener, which is safer.

教学设计 Step 1 Feed back (3 ‘) 1. Give the students feedback of their pre-class homework. 2. Give the students feedback of their oral homework. Correct the pronunciation mistakes. 设计目的:Comment on the students homework and Stimulate students to think actively. Step 2 Lead in (5’) Activity 1 1.Play a video and ask the students to pick out the kitchen tools and knives in the video. Such as: Chef’s knife, salmon knife, cutting board, oven, pan 2. Students discuss the video in groups. 设计目的:Lead in the new lesson with video to arose student’s interest. Step 3 Listening task (20’) Task 1 New word learning Activity 1 Read these words and phrase. 1. The students read these new words after the recording. whetstone sharpening steel, dull, safe, electric knife sharpener 2. The students read the words in pairs and try to remember the new words. 3. The teachet explain the usages of the new words. dull 不锋利的、沉闷的 Eg. The chef is complaining that the knife is dull. The party was very dull. Sharp--sharpen—sharpening ---sharpener Eg. Many of the knives will have sharp blades. I can sharpen scissors, too. 3. Guide the students to do some translation exercises. 设计目的:To help students read and remember the new words. Activity 2 Read and translate. 1. Explain the key sentences. Invite some students to translate the sentences if necessary.
