1. one forty-five/a quarter to two（教材P60 1a）
quarter名词，意为“一刻钟；四分之一”。（15分钟叫一刻钟：a quarter）
eg：He arrives after a quarter.
Please wait for a quarter. 请等一刻钟。
There are four of us, so we cut the orange into quarters and each eats a piece.
我们有四个人，因此我们把橙子切成四等份，每人吃一份。
【拓展】当用 quarter 表达分数时，如果分子大于1，则 quarter 要用复数形式。
eg：Three quarters of our classmates are good at basketball.

brush用作名词，意为“刷子，毛刷”。
brush用作动词，意为“刷，擦，拂”。
如：他用刷子涂墙。

如：我们每天应该至少刷两次牙。

tooth名词，意为“牙齿”，其复数形式为teeth。变复数时将“oo”变成“ee”的名词还有：foot — feet（脚）goose—geese（鹅）

（1）duty 不可数名词，意为“值班”
如：on duty 值班
off duty 下班
He goes on duty at 8 a.m. and comes off duty at 5 p.m.

（2）duty 可数名词&不可数名词，意为“职责”
如：As a teacher, my duty is helping every student to learn.作
为一名教师，我的职责是帮助每个学生学习。

usually 作频度副词，表示某事发生的频率，通常位于实义动词之前，助动词、情态动词或连系动词be之后。频度副词还有：always﹥usually﹥often﹥sometimes﹥seldom﹥hardly ever﹥never。
如：玛丽通常七点去上学。
我通常都这么早。
约翰总是迟到。
他几乎从不锻炼。
他永远也不会明白。
Mary usually goes to school at 7.
I’m usually so early.
John always comes late.
He hardly ever exercises.

5. Peter’s school begins at eight. （教材P60 1d）
at+时间
Point
at 作介词，无论表示时间点还是空间点，at都用于“小而具体”的名词前，比如时间表达“在几点”，地点表达“在哪儿”。
eg：at the moment 此时此刻 at nine o'clock 在9点 at noon 在中午
in的本意是“在……之内”，表示时间的时候，指的是在一个比较长的时间段之内，表示地点的时候，表示在地点名词内部。
eg：in summer 在夏季 in May 在五月份 in the evening 在傍晚
in the village 在村里 in the school 在学校里
on 用于表示地点的时候，表示接触的“上方”，表示时间的时候，用于具体的日期前、节日前，如果每个早晨、下午、晚上被修饰，也会用on。
eg：on Monday 在周一 on May 1st 在五月一号 on Christmas 在圣诞节那天

what time用来引导特殊疑问句，提问具体的时间点，指时间点。
—What time does he get up every morning？
—At seven o'clock.
when也可以用来提问具体的时间点，还可以提问年份、月份、日期等。既指时间点又指时间段。
—When is her birthday？
—It's on October 19th.
如：—他每天早上什么时候起床？
—七点钟。
如：—她的生日什么时候？？
—10月19日。
