Step 1 Lead-in
Show students a video—Months of the Year Syllable Song. Let them know about twelve months.
Step 2 Listening
1a Listen and repeat. Then circle the month and day of your birthday.
(1)Look at the months and days in the two boxes below. Listen and repeat them.
(2)When is your birthday Ask the students this question and let them circle the months and days of their birthday.
1b Listen to the conversations and match the people with their birthdays.
1.Ask the Ss to listen to the conversations and match the people with their birthdays.
2.Explain the different ways of telling dates between American English and British English. Then check the answers in class.

1c Listen again and answer the questions.

1d Find out your group member’s ages and birthdays. Then line up from the youngest to the oldest.
(1)Work in groups. Let students talk about their ages and birthdays with their group members. Then ask students to make conversations.
For example:

—When is your birthday
—It’s on 14th April.
(2)Then they can ask another group member with the same questions.
(3)Let students line up their group members from the youngest to the oldest.
Step 4 Homework
(1)Review the words about months and ordinal numbers.

Step 1 Lead-in
Show some videos about pronunciation tips of /h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/ and /j/.
Step 2 Pronunciation
1 Listen and repeat.
1.Explain the essentials of the pronunciation of /h/,/r/,/l/,/m/,/n/,/ /,/w/ and /j/.
2.Ask the Ss to listen to the tape,and then repeat.
3.Ask the Ss to read the words together again.
2 Listen to the humorous conversation. Notice the intonation in each sentence. Then repeat the conversation.
Step 3 Listening
2a Listen to the two parts of the conversation and fill in the blanks.
(1)Show the picture on Page 69,and then ask the Ss to guess:What are the three people doing Where are they What are the relationships
(2)Choose some students to share their answers.

教学过程
Step 1 Free talk
Ask students some questions:When is your birthday How do you celebrate your birthday Do you know when your family members’ birthdays are
Step 2 Project—Celebrate your birthdays together
3a Work in groups. Find out the birthdays in your group and write them on the calendar.
Let students talk about their own birthday dates with the group members. Write down the dates on the calendar.
3b Find out whose birthdays are this month.
Look at the calendar in 3a and find out whose birthdays are this month of your group members.
3c Work out a meaningful way to celebrate the birthdays together.
(1)According to the information in 3b, let students choose a meaningful way for whose birthdays are in this month to celebrate together.
(2)Talk about in groups and do a survey about the questions below:
