Nelly is going to organize a class party. She will have the party today at first. Mark thinks that half the class won’t come if they have the party today. Because it’s too early. Then Nelly thinks she’ll have the party tomorrow. However, there is a test the day after tomorrow. Students will leave early to study for the test. At last, they will have the party on Saturday afternoon. They won’t watch a video because students will be bored. Mark will organize some party games and Nelly will make some food for them.
美国人和中国人一样喜欢交朋友，但是美国人喜欢开各种各样的派对而中国人跟喜欢请客吃饭或者聚餐。
在我们国家，谁家请客办派对，都要好好地招待宾客，而且还要用最好的东西招待宾客，经常会说“招呼不周”。东西还一定要有剩，否则显得小气不热情。
在美国，派对经常举行，甚至天天都有各种不同形式或者主题的派对，但是和中国不一样，美国的派对举办时，参加的客人常常自带吃喝，这种派对还有一个专有名词叫“Potluck”。这不仅是美国人最经常举行的一种典型聚会形式，也是在美国的华人间最流行的派对方式。
这种派对，主人提供场所，小点心，部分饮料或者饭后甜点什么的。来宾每人带份自己做的吃的。实在不会做或没时间做的，可以去买食品、水果、或酒等带来。聚会之前大家还可以协商下每个人要带东西的种类：如沙拉，肉，甜点，饮料等。以避免不均匀分布。这样的聚会主人不会因为准备饭菜压力太大，可以邀请很多人来参加。而参加的人越多，食物的就更多样化。大家一起分享食物。每个人都能吃到很多种类的东西。整体的氛围是很随意，轻松的。
