My favourite animal is cats. They are usually small with soft fur. Most of them are orange, black or grey. They have sharp claws and big, bright eyes. Cats are good at climbing and jumping. They can catch mice. They can also move quietly. It’s so amazing. I love them because they are cute and playful.They are gentle and lovely, always bringing warmth to our lives.

1. friendly / frendli/ adj.友好的（教材P7 2a)
[形容词]由“friend (n.朋友) + -ly (后缀) ”构成。

be friendly to sb. (=be kind/nice to sb.) 对某人友好
My friend Jim is friendly to me. I hope our friendship will last forever. 我的朋友吉姆对我很友好。我希望我们的友谊天长地久。

【辨】quite与very
两者都可作副词，表示“非常”区别如下：
quite 修饰动词、形容词或副词
very 修饰形容词或副词
不能单独修饰动词，修饰动词可用very much

他钢琴弹得非常好。
I quite like Beijing opera. = I like Beijing opera very much.我很喜欢京剧。

可作表语或定语。

She has excellent hearing and can detect even the slightest sound. 她听力很好，即使是最轻微的声音也能听到。
