To celebrate the 70th anniversary (周年) of our school, we had a special activity: designing our own school uniforms.
We were all excited and couldn’t wait to get started. My classmate Pei Youyang designed three types of sports clothes to wear in different seasons. “These clothes are all loose (宽松的) and comfortable, suitable for playing sports. There are elastic cords (松紧带) in the trousers so that we can adjust the trouser leg opening to higher places such as to the knees, “ she said. To keep students safe at night, she also added three reflective stripes (反光条) on the trousers.
Wang Yuchuhan made a series of dresses only for girls. “Most of the school uniforms look mostly the same, and the girls’ beauty is often constrained (限制) by the clothes,” said Wang. “So I designed some beautiful dresses to let girls show their young, energetic look confidently.”
As for me, I designed uniforms in a traditional Chinese style. There are Chinese elements (元素) such as the pattern of Xiangyun and ink paintings. The main colors are blue and jade green, which can show the students’ elegant qualities (优雅特质). I believe they’ll look good when students attend formal occasions (正式场合) such as ceremonies or meetings with foreign guests.
“I’m surprised that the students all did such a marvelous job,” said Ms. Sun Congmin from the school. “Their designs are pretty and useful. This is really a meaningful activity where students showed their talent and creativity.”

A. It constrains girls’ beauty. B. It suits formal occasions.
C. It looks ancient and modern. D. It will attract foreign people.

Family Rules
My parents are very strict with me, we have many rules at home.
I’m never allowed to go out with my friends at night. I am not allowed to choose my own clothes, either. And my parents pay too much attention to my exam results. It makes me feel stressed. I don’t think they understand me.
I think I should be allowed to make my own decisions. However, I try my best to understand my parents. So I often find chances to have communications with them. Although they don’t allow me to make my own decisions and put too much pressure on me, I know that it is because they really care about me and want me to have a chance to enter a good university.
Although there are still many “don’ts” in my home, nothing is unchangeable. It’s all about mutual understanding.
