Status and function
The topic of this unit is “ Health and first aid” and the functions item is “Talk about health problems and accidents ; Give advice”. Section A(1a-2c) is the first period of this unit. In this lesson, students learn to talk about health problem and give advice.

The students in grade 8 have learnt English for at least two years.（基础） Most of them can express themselves clearly.（能力） And the topic of this unit is about our daily life.（生活经验） So it’s easy for them to master the knowledge.

用学生最关心的话题开场白，能够充分调动学生及急性，吸引其注意力。

设计意图：
1.本节课中相当一部分身体部位词汇为2级目标词汇，学生在小学就有接触，有一定的基础印象。
2.通过竞赛的方式学习单词能够调动学生积极性，激发学生求胜欲望，创设学习氛围。
3. 组内互助，以优带差，全员参与。

Task1. Competition about the new words (5’)
1. Divide the students into 3 groups.
2. Read the new words after the vocabulary
tapes.
3. Read by themselves. They can help each

4. Show time : read the new words one by one.
