一、教学内容分析
本课时为阅读课，阅读的语篇为两则网络发帖。Yu Xiaoming和Judy Clark在各自的帖子中主要谈论了自己生日的具体日期以及生日时常做的一些有意义的事情，还对下一个生日要进行的活动提出了设想。学生通过本课时的学习，能够进一步丰富生日话题下的相关词汇，了解网络发帖这一新媒体语篇的典型特征，并学习谈论如何让自己的生日活动更加有意义，同时了解不同国家的生日文化。
二、语篇分析
【What】 本课时包含两则网络发帖，Yu Xiaoming和Judy Clark在各自的帖子中主要谈论了自己生日的具体日期以及生日时常做的一些有意义的事情，还对下一个生日要进行的活动提出了设想。 【Why】 本课时的语篇通过两个不同国家的人对自己生日庆祝活动的介绍，可以让学生了解不同国家的人过生日的不同方式，了解中西方生日文化差异，思考生日庆祝活动背后的含义，并学会思考如何过一个有意义的生日。 【How】 本课时语篇是两则网络论坛的发帖，语篇在版式设计方面具有新媒体语篇的一些典型特征，比如：折叠页面、发帖人的姓名、发帖时间和日期等典型元素。语篇主要涉及日期的表达法，如“13th June”和生日庆祝活动的英文表达，如“make a wish, blow out the candles, enjoy the cake”等。语篇都在结尾时提出问题“When is your birthday How do you celebrate it ”“Any good ideas ”与读者进行亲切的互动。
三、学情分析
学生在本单元前几个课时的学习过程中，已经学习了如何表达某人生日的具体日期，并简单谈论了一些生日的庆祝方式，这为本课学习做了铺垫。但是学生对于网络发帖这种新媒体语篇还比较陌生，对新媒体语篇的语篇特征还不是很了解。本节课，教师通过呈现网络发帖的图片，吸引学生的注意力，带领学生观察新媒体语篇的典型特征。通过绘制思维导图的方式，带领学生梳理文本信息，并让学生在思维导图的帮助下复述课文，提高学生口语表达能力。
四、教学目标
通过本课时的学习，学生能够： 1. 通过阅读文本理解网络发帖的主要信息，并能根据帖子信息完成思维导图； 2. 在思维导图的帮助下复述帖子的主要内容； 3. 体会不同地区的生日文化，理解生日庆祝活动背后的含义，学会思考如何过有意义的生日。

六、教学活动设计
环节一：创设情境，学习新词汇。（5 mins） 教师通过图片呈现自己女儿过生日的情景，让学生在情境中理解并记忆本课新词汇。
