Step 1 Brainstorming
T asks Ss to brainstorm some medical achievements Chinese people have achieved.

【设计意图：结合本单元前面的内容，让学生头脑风暴一些中国现有的医学成就，既回顾之前学过的知识，也顺利引出本节课的内容——针灸。】
Step 2 Predicting
T asks Ss to read the title of the article and guess what will be talked about in the article.
What aspects will be talked about in the article
What magic has acupuncture brought to us
【设计意图：学生根据标题猜测文本可能会出现的内容，尤其预测一下针灸的神奇之处有哪些，为学生接下来的阅读做好铺垫。】
Step 3 Global reading
T asks Ss to scan the article and get the main idea of each paragraph.

Step 4 Careful reading
T asks Ss to read para. 1 and finish the exercises：

The most famous Chinese medical treatment is the art of “magic needles”, or Chinese acupuncture.
It was developed long ago, as early as 2,000 BCE.

If your foreign friend David is interested in acupuncture, how will you introduce about it
【设计意图：让学生以小组讨论的方式讨论以上两个问题，第一个问题是探究学生对于针灸的态度问题；第二个问题是为了回顾文本，也为家庭作业做好铺垫。】
