1.Abide by sth
遵守,信守(法律、协议、诺言等)。比如:我们应该遵守交通规则。We should abide by the traffic rules.
2.Account for
(1)说明……的原因;解释。例如:他无法解释自己缺席的原因。He couldn't account for his absence.
(2)(在数量、比例上)占。像:女生占这个班级学生的 60%。Girls account for 60 percent of the students in this class.
3.Add up
(1)加起来。比如:把这些数字加起来然后告诉我结果。Add up these numbers and tell me the result.
