句子的重音
在一个句子中，并不是所有单词都赋予同样的发音力度。有些单词听起来发音较慢，但响亮且清晰；有些单词则听起来发音较快且模糊。那些读得响亮且清晰的词就是句子的重音所在。句子的重音用“ ”表示。
一般情况下，句子中重读与非重读的词汇如下：

动词、副词及部分代词
句子的语调
在朗读英语句子时，有两种基本语调：降调和升调。降调用“ ”表示，升调用“ ”表示。降调表示语义完结，语气肯定。升调一般用来表示不确定、怀疑或者礼貌。
