Last week, our school held an exhibition of traditional culture and art in our school library, whose them was “Protect our cultural heritage”. The exhibition was aimed at promoting students’ awareness of protecting Chinese cultural heritage, with all the students and teachers taking part in it. The Students’ Union, organizer of this activity, invited some famous artists in our city to perform their skills in front of the audience, from paper-cutting to calligraphy. There were also a lot of pictures taken from several well-known museums. This activity is interesting and educational. Last Sunday our school organized a visit to the Great Wall，with the aim of helping the foreign students in our school admire the beautiful scenery in China. The moment we got there by school bus，we couldn't wait to climb it. Seeing this fantastic wonder，the foreign students couldn't help speaking highly of the construction capacity of ancient Chinese people. Meanwhile, the tour guide told us a handful of stories about the Great Wall，in which we were interested. Though we spent about three hours getting to the highest section，we were all in high spirits. With the aim of enriching students’ knowledge about intangible cultural heritage, our school students’ union organized an activity called “Getting to know the intangible cultural heritage around us” last week. First, we listened to experts’ speeches and appreciated the handmade works, including paper-cutting and calligraphy, from which we enjoyed the beauty of these treasures. Moreover, we also appreciated the traditional operas and traditional song and dance. Through this activity, we became more familiar with the heritage.
