阅读下面材料，根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段，使之构成一篇完整的短文。
人与自然（对接同步课本B1U5/B2U6/X2U6最优）
I was in Philadelphia for a conference when I saw an ad in the hotel. A nearby theater was showing a documentary(纪录片) about several local animal shelters that were helping to save abandoned dogs across the country. I love animals, and I felt an urge to go to this fundraising event. However, none of my co-workers would go with me, and I was worried about walking on the street alone at night.
I resigned【放弃】 myself to spending the evening in my hotel room, but as soon as I got back to my room I felt restless and bored. The theater where the event was taking place was only about five blocks from the hotel, and the area around the hotel didn't seem particularly dangerous. So, I decided to brave it. I gathered up my wallet and room key and set off.
It was already getting dark and the streets were nearly deserted. I managed to find the street the theater was on, but when I turned the corner, I stopped in shock. In front of the theater were a group of bikers—very big, tough-looking bikers.
I've known lots of motorcycle enthusiasts and most are nice people. However, in this case, I was a woman all alone, in a strange neighborhood, at night, and there were twenty or so very large men-all wearing insignia(徽章) that indicated they were in some sort of club-standing before me. Warning bells began to sound in my head, and my heart was pounding. Was I at the right theater Had I misread the date of the event
A sign outside the theater told me that I was in the right place on the right evening. Nevertheless, I wondered if I should rush back to my hotel instead of walking through that crowd of bikers. I finally decided that I would be safer inside the theater. Hopefully, the bikers would have gone away by the time the film was over.

So frozen and still at the theater gate was I, which made the bikers inside all throw/cast their gazes on me that I felt nothing but my heart pounding even more strongly, completely unaware of what action I would adopt. I was not sure how much time had passed, but only greeted by each of the biker coming in from the outside who I had encountered in the deserted street. Suddenly, the curtain opened.（4句）

When the film began, I realized that the bikers were an animal rescue group. With of start, recalling how ridiculous my overreaction had been instantly helped me no longer feel dangerous. Naturally, by the light from the film, I found a seat and sat next to a tough-look biker. After a short conversation with him, I expressed my wish to save abandoned dogs. Hearing this, he enthusiastically welcomed me to join the animal rescue group. Then, with the film ending, he introduced me to all the members. Seeing so many animal lovers around, I did believe we would find a way to help the wild live with us harmoniously together.（6句）
点评：
本次2025年八省联考的读后续写又一次选择了“人与自然”主题，命题思路和2023年的四省联考一样，同样都选择了“弱小的动物”作为帮助对象（这次是“狗”，上次是“松鼠”）。当然选择“人与自然”主题是很难得的，但是确直接宣布今年的高考真题可能这个主题又不会出现了。所以对于考生而言既是“好事”，也是“遗憾”。
不过，虽然“人与自然”主题在真题的层面到目前为止5年来没有出现在新课标1/2卷的试卷上，但是通过本次八校联考出现，也算“露面”了。（今年的高考，这个主题同学们在备考层面可以靠后了）。
从行文与设计角度而言，“人与自然”是变化最小的主题，虽然内容的距离与人类较远，但是主题立意高度一致，都是揭示“人与自然的和谐共处”，只要把第一段续写的反转处理好，第二段的难度较其余两类主题而言是简单的。
锦言妙语积累：
1.独立主格：with my mind immediately getting blank and my mouth opening wide；with the film ending
2.部分倒装与结果状语从句结合：So frozen and still at the theater gate was I
3.主补：completely unaware of what action I would adopt
4.形宾逻辑的宾语从句：I was not sure how much time had passed
