The movie, set in Tuscany, follows a group of citizens who leave their village just before their houses are set to be blown up by the Nazis(纳粹). The story is told through the eyes of sixyearold Cecilia, who sees the event as a great adventure. The movie is a mixture of comedy, fantasy and sorrowful drama.
Let There Be Light
It is a deeply moving documentary that describes, specifically, the effects of wartime trauma(创伤) on soldiers but also, more generally, the way men who have never been encouraged to talk about their feelings must find a way to do so in order to heal.

As a young person, I never thought of myself as a sports enthusiast because I was quite clumsy. But there was one thing I enjoyed: running. It felt like I was soaring(翱翔) through the air. Sadly, this changed when I hurt my knees two years ago. I had to stay in bed for two weeks and even walking a short way was hard for me. I was so upset that I
cried as I moved to the car for several days.
When therapy(疗法) wasn't working well for me, I signed up for a hot yoga class for girls, Bikram Yoga to be exact. Starting a yoga practice was truly a blessing because it helped me gain strength in my knees but, most importantly yoga helped me attain a more peaceful state of mind, body and spirit.
Since each class was heated to 105°F, every time I stepped foot in the yoga studio, I'd feel a surge of negative thoughts come upon me like a big ocean wave. Some of these thoughts were, in the beginning of my practice, so strong that I walked out of the class several times. However, as the months passed by, I noticed that when I didn't get swayed away(动摇) by my negative thoughts, I could stay in the hot room for longer.
After 3－4 months of practicing hot yoga, my arms and legs were beginning to get definition. I also woke up with so much more energy than I had before starting my yoga practice and I gradually started shedding the pounds(减轻体重) from my body. Yoga literally made me feel as if I'd taken a shot of energy drink and just gave me that burst that helped my knees heal and made my overall health better.
As I saw some of my classmates do poses that looked appealing to me, I started to think maybe I could do them too. Therefore, yoga helped show me that I have no real limitations physically unless I set those limitations myself through eating junk and thinking in negative and limiting terms. Also, practicing yoga in front of a mirror helped me connect with myself and practicing with a group of people really helped me to feel a greater sense of connection with humanity whereas before I didn't. Overall, this yoga practice has helped me to see I'm part of a bigger picture in life!

I had to say something after reading The Anxious Generation. It is going to sell well, because Jonathan Haidt is telling a scary story about children's development many parents are led to believe. However, the book's repeated suggestion that digital
technologies are reshaping our children's brains and causing the epidemic(流行病) of mental illness is unsupported by science. Worse, the rude proposal that social media is to blame might distract us from effectively responding to the real causes of the current mentalhealth crisis in young people.
Researchers have searched for the effects suggested by Haidt. The efforts have produced a mix of no, small and mixed associations(联系). When associations over time are found, they suggest not that socialmedia use predicts or causes depression, but that young people who already have mentalhealth problems use such platforms more often or in different ways from their healthy peers.
Several analysis and systematic reviews concentrate on the__same__message. An analysis done in 72 countries shows no measurable associations between wellbeing and social media globally. Moreover, studies from some authorities find no evidence of intense changes associated with digitaltechnology use.
As a psychologist studying children's and adolescents' mental health, I appreciate parents' frustration and desire for simple answers. As a parent of adolescents, I would also like to identify a simple source for the pain this generation is reporting. There are, however, no simple answers. The beginning and development of mental disorders are driven by a complex set of genetic and environmental factors.
More young people are talking openly about their mentalhealth struggles than ever before. But not enough services are available to address their needs. In the United States, there is, on average, one school psychologist for every 1，119 students. We have a generation in crisis and in desperate need of the best of what science and evidencebased solutions can offer. Unfortunately, our time is being spent telling stories that are unsupported by research and that do little to support young people who need, and deserve, more.

A recent survey in the US found that Gen Zers and Millennials visit libraries more often than their parents or grandparents. The young love libraries because they are secure, comfortable, free and—as my 11yearold would say—“aesthetic”. This means they look good in the background of an Instagram post or TikTok video. It's also a great place to meet people. If you're both young and in a library, chances are you have similar interests.
And then, too, there are the books. Gen Zers are turning out to be big readers, especially of paper books. Even though, or perhaps because, they have in their pockets the most limitlessly distracting devices ever invented, many are deliberately(故意地) choosing to pick up a piece of 15thcentury technology instead. They like the fact that books are complete in themselves and require focused attention.
There is, sometimes, a sense of nostalgic(怀旧的) cosplay in the way young people read. In New York, for example, the latest TikTokfuelled craze(狂热) is reading with strangers in bars. You have to buy a ticket in advance, and then you all gather and sit in silence for 30 minutes, reading whatever book you've brought along. It is like an expensive version of going to the library, except that afterwards you all have a drink and talk about books.
To me, reading is a private pleasure, while screens—TV or cinema—are social. I did once, in a group of ambitious parenting, introduce a “family reading hour”， during which my husband and children were pressed to join me at the fireside for some silent reading. It could not have felt more performative if we had dressed up in top hats and oldfashioned clothes.
But still, I'd like to praise these young readers—for knowing what is good for them, for seeking out human connection, for finding the beauty and pleasure in old institutions, and for bringing new life to the library.
