The wizard of Oz is a novel by American writer Lyman Frank Baum, which tells us how a little girl Dorothy goes back to her hometown when she is in another strange city.
From the book, we can see Dorothy is a brave and kind-hearted girl. She solved problems when they met difficulties. We also learn that teamwork is important for us. 1.文章以考试为线索。马上要考试了，同学们都积极努力地备考，除了贪玩的Marc。一天下午，Marc邀请好友Huck去踢足球，Huck拒绝了，他要认真学习，考出好成绩，这样妈妈会送给他一辆山地自行车。而且Huck还说自己一定会比Marc考得好。这让Marc备受刺激，他决心认真准备考试，但他感觉到很困难。于是在姐姐的帮助下，Marc积极准备考试，考出了好成绩。

On the day of the exam, Marc went to school with great confidence. He met Huck in the classroom, who looked delighted as if he was bound to win. But Marc didn’t care. When the exam began, Marc answered all the questions as best as he could. Several days later, the result came out. It turned out that Marc did much better than Huck. “Well done,” said Mom. “We could go to see a movie to celebrate, and you can choose one.” “I think Lily should choose,” said Marc. “I would never have gained such a great achievement without her help and encouragement .”

3. 历险奇遇
This time, his throw over the waterfall was perfect.“All right, that's all we can do,” David told Sara and Hunter.Then they went back to the riverbank where they'd had lunch.They made a fire and prepared supper. As the evening wore on,they placed a headlamp with a flashing light on a rock sticking out from the cliff. By about 10:30 p.m.,they decided they probably weren't going to get rescued that night, so they pulled out their sleeping bags. Before sleeping, David added more wood to the fire to keep the mountain lions away.
The next morning, they heard a helicopter hovering above them. Finally, the helicopter landed safely and it was a moment of pure happiness as the three chatted with the rescuers. The family learned more about the long story: Some hikers had seen the water bottle in the water and picked it up. They read the note and called the rescue department at once. David expressed his appreciation to them and said: “I can imagine it's going to be one of the greatest moments of my life.”
