In the first year I have 3 main courses which contain 9 subjects. My favourtie subject is English. I like maths, Chinese, too, but I am weak in physics and I hate chemistry! I am quite good at history, though. I find it quite easy to learn.

School rules:
My school has a scoring system(积分系统) for every student's overall performance(总体表现). We may earn or lose points by doing something. For example,I' ll lose points if I am late for class. We must wear school uniforms at school. We are not allowed to use mobile phones at school. Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly forbidden.

Teachers & classmates
I find most of my teachers and classmates friendly and helpful. Mr. Yang, our maths teacher, is the most popular teacher among the students. He has special ways to make his classes lively and interesting. And above all, he can make very difficult knowledge easy to understand.
Liu Bing is my closest friend. We enjoy spending time together and there's no secret between us. We share the same interests and hobbies.

In & out of class
During classes, we should be active in asking and answering questions, taking notes, and being a good partner or a participant in pair work and group work.
After school, we should review our lessons in time and finish the exercises or homework assigned to us by the teacher.

Tests & exams
We often have quizzes, tests or exams, too many indeed in my opinion! But what can I do I have no choice but to work hard to be well prepared for them. Only in this way can I pass the tests or examinations with good scores or grades rather than fail them!

Problems & worries
* The No.1 problem for me is that time is always limited! There are too many exercises to do and too many things to remember. I have little free time to do things I used to enjoy doing.
* It always annoys me that my parents don't understand me. My mom is always afraid I might be playing games online or I might fall in love with a girl! When I need to go online at home, she enters my room frequently to see what I am doing.

Friday 8 September Fine
Finally, it's Friday! I can't believe the first week is coming to an end. Things are going well, but there is always something new just around the corner.
At junior high,I took lots of notes during class. So in physics class on Mon- day,I did the same, but the teacher spoke so fast that I couldn't take everything down. The teacher found I was struggling with note-taking and told me to stop and just listen. “Thinking is a more important ability than note-taking and memorising,” he said.
After class on Wednesday,I hurried to the school skateboarding club. I was running out of the classroom when I bumped into a girl literally. I said sorry to her and she smiled at me. At the club,I had the first try at skateboarding and fell off the board a lot. Suddenly,a girl bumped into me— the same girl from the corridor! This time, both of us laughed. Her name is Sarah. We started to prac- tise together and soon became friends.
I'm going to watch a film with Sarah tomorrow evening. I'm looking forward to it!
