Step 1
Organise your ideas by answering the following questions.
When and where did the story happen
Who is the main character of the story
E.g. The story happened last Saturday at the community center(社区中心).
The main character is Lily.
What did he / she do and what challenge(s) did he / she face
How did he / she react to the challenge(s)
What did he / she feel
She wanted to help old people at the community center. Her challenge was that she didn't know how to make the old people happy at first.
Lily thought hard and decided to tell funny stories to the old people. She also helped them clean their rooms.
After seeing the old people laugh and thank her, Lily felt very happy. She learned that helping others could bring so much joy.
Step 2
Use your ideas to write your story.
The Happy Volunteer
Last Saturday, Lily went to the community center to be a volunteer. She wanted to help the old people there. But at the beginning, she didn't know how to make them happy. It was quite a challenge for her.
Lily thought for a while and decided to tell some funny stories to the old people. Besides, she also helped them clean their rooms.
When Lily saw the old people laughing and heard them say thank you, she felt very happy. She learned that helping others can bring a lot of joy.
