姓名: 班 级: 学号:__________
◆How does the author feel about ... ◆What does the author think of ...
◆What is the author's attitude towards/to ...
◆The author's attitude towards ... can be described as .
(1)心理描写; (2)具有感彩的表达; (3)表达观点或态度的词、短语及语块;
(1)but、however、yet等转折词后,往往是真正的观点;
favorable(赞同的,有利的)、positive(积极乐观的,肯定的)、approving(赞成的)、supportive(支持的,鼓励的)、appreciative(欣赏的)、concerned(感兴趣的,关注的)、optimistic(乐观的)、acceptable(认同的,可接受的)、reasonable(合理的)、enthusiastic/passionate(热情的)

objective(客观的)、neutral(中立的)、uninterested(不感兴趣的)、unconcerned(无兴趣的,不关心的)、indifferent(漠不关心的)、impartial(公正的,中立的)、ambiguous(模棱两可的)、impersonal(客观的)

The annual arrival of the Saint Lukas is another attempt to improve the situation. For 10 months every year, the train stops at about eight stations over two weeks, before returning to the regional capital to refuel and restock (补给).Then it starts all over again the next month. Most stations wait about a year between visits.
Doctors see up to 150 patients every day.The train’s equipment allows for basic checkups.“I was very impressed by the doctors and their assistants working and living in such little space but still staying focused and very concerned,” says Ducke.“They were the best chance for many rural people to get the treatment they want.”

In a follow-up study with 100 university students, the researchers tried to get a better sense of what the group members actually did in their discussion. Did they tend to go with those most confident about their estimates? Did they follow those least willing to change their minds? This happened some of the time, but it wasn’t the dominant response. Most frequently, the groups reported that they “shared arguments and reasoned together.” Somehow, these arguments and reasoning resulted in a global reduction in error.
Although the studies led by Navajas have limitations and many questions remain, the potential implications for group discussion and decision-making are enormous.
35.What is the author’s attitude toward Navajas’ studies?
A Unclear. B.Dismissive. C.Doubtful. D.Approving.
Ridership on transit (交通) systems across the country has been down the past half century, so could short stories save transit?
  Trost thinks so.
“At the end of the day all transit agencies right now are doing everything they can to improve the rider experience. So I absolutely think we will get more riders just because of short stories,” she says.
And you’ll never be without something to read.
27.What is Trost’s opinion about BART’s future?
A.It will close down. B.Its profits will decline.
C.It will expand nationwide. D.Its ridership will increase.

(2024·甘肃诊断)Old dogs may not have an easy time learning new tricks, but it’s not a problem for cockatoos (凤头鹦鹉).In fact, researchers believe they teach one another. In Sydney, Australia, these birds have learned to lift the lids of rubbish bins. Then they can enjoy the treats inside. At first only birds in a few suburbs of Sydney could do the trick. But nearly two years later, the technique spread to birds in 44 suburbs.Cockatoos proved to be smart birds and good learners.
Cockatoos are some of the most fascinating birds in the world.Members of the parrot family, they live in Australia and parts of Southeast Asia.Their striking good looks, intelligence and social nature make them popular pets.
One of the most distinctive features of cockatoos is the crest (羽冠) of feathers on their heads. The birds can raise or lower these feathers at will.If it is excited or scared, a cockatoo will raise its crest to show its emotions.
Cockatoos have powerful beaks (喙) that they use to open seeds and nuts — or rubbish bin lids. They are also versed in using tools. In the wild, some cockatoos use sticks to get insects out of tree bark.Others use small stones to crack open hard-shelled nuts.
Cockatoos are also very social. In the wild, they form large flocks of up to several hundred individuals. They make different sounds to communicate with one another. They engage in playful behaviours such as dancing and cleaning each other’s feathers.
As pets, the birds can form strong bonds with their owners and be entertaining companions. But cockatoos can be challenging pets to keep. They require a lot of attention and social interaction. If they don’t get them, they can become bored and destroy things.Cockatoos live long lives — around 70 years — making keeping one a serious responsibility.
Rather than committing to caring for one at home, enjoy the birds in the wild.Who knows what trick they will learn next!

(2024·杭州质检)Is forgiveness against our human nature? To answer this question, we need to ask a further question:What is the essence of our humanity? For the sake of simplicity, people consider two distinctly different views of humanity. The first view involves dominance and power. In an early paper on the psychology of forgiveness, Droll (1984) made the interesting claim that humans’ essential nature is more aggressive than forgiving allows. Those who forgive are against their basic nature, much to their harm.In his opinion, forgivers are compromising their wellbeing as they offer mercy to others, who might then take advantage of them.
The second view involves the theme of cooperation, mutual respect, and even love as the basis of who we are as humans.Researchers find that to fully grow as human beings, we need both to receive love from and offer love to others.Without love, our connections with a wide range of individuals in our lives can fall apart.Even common sense strongly suggests that the will to have more power over others does not make for harmonious interactions. For example, how well has slavery (奴隶制) worked as a mode of social harmony?
From this second viewpoint of who we are as humans, forgiveness plays a key role in the biological and psychological integrity of both individuals and communities because one of the outcomes of forgiveness, shown through scientific studies, is the decreasing of hatred and the restoration of harmony.Forgiveness can break the cycle of anger. At least to an extent the people from whom you are estranged (不和的) accept your love and forgiveness and are prepared to make the required adjustments.Forgiveness can heal relationships and reconnect people.
As an important note, when we take a classical realism philosophical perspective, that of Aristotle, we see the distinction between potentiality and actuality. We are not necessarily born with the capacity to forgive, but instead with the potential to learn about it and to grow in our ability to forgive. The actuality of forgiving, its actual appropriation in conflict situations, develops with practice.
5.What is Droll’s idea about forgiveness?( )
A.People should offer mercy to others.
B.Aggressive people should learn to forgive.
C.Forgiveness depends on the nature of humanity.
D.Forgiveness has negative effects on us.
6.What does the example in Paragraph 2 illustrate?( )
A.To forgive is to love. B.To dominate is to harm.
C.To fight is to grow. D.To give is to receive.
7.What is the writer’s attitude toward forgiveness?( )
A.Favorable. B.Opposed.
C.Objective. D.Skeptical.
8.What is the main idea of the last paragraph?( )
A.Forgiveness is in our nature. B.Forgiveness grows with time.
C.It takes practice to forgive. D.Actuality is based on potentiality.

(2024·广州三模)Do you know cultivated meat Typically, making this sort of meat starts with cells from domestic animals. The cells are grown in bioreactors full of nutrient rich liquid, and then harvested, and eventually become products such as steak or chicken. In a homely kitchen of a startup, a slice of such meat was fried and then served with peppers. The first mouthful of it was extraordinary because the meat was grown in a lab, rather than on an animal. Meanwhile, it was also dull, because the texture, taste, look and smell of the meat were almost identical to those of chicken.
In June, two companies won regulatory approval to sell cultivated meat in America. A handful of other firms are trying to bring cultivated meat to market. But the hope is fading owing to continued high costs and troubles with mass production.
The UN reports meat and dairy production already accounts for 12% of humanity's greenhouse gas emissions. Demand for meat is skyrocketing among the growing middle classes of Africa and Asia. Lab-grown meat could help meet that demand without the world breaking its carbon budget. By contrast, two fifths of Americans claim to restrict their meat consumption either for ethical (伦理的) reasons or environmental ones. Lab-grown meat may seem less ethically worrisome than eating animals. And the early success of plant-based meat alternatives gave investors hope. One such firm went public in 2019, and saw its value shoot to $14 billion.
Though lab grown meat offers an alternative to farm-grown meat, questions have been raised about how climate friendly it can be. A study published earlier this year found that in some circumstances cultivated meat could be more polluting than the conventional stuff because the bioreactor is in great need of power to control its temperature. Consequently, only if renewable energy is used in the production process will cultivated meat cut the carbon footprint of the meat industry.
Whether this effort can make lab-grown meat attractive and cheap enough to attract consumers remains to be seen.
9.What does the author focus on in paragraph 1
A.Characteristics of cultivated meat.
B.Health benefits of cultivated meat.
C.Cooking methods of cultivated meat.
D.Similarities of cultivated meat to animal meat.
10.What can we infer from paragraph 3
A.Most Americans tend to skip meat.
B.Asians prefer lab grown meat.
C.Plant-based meat companies are facing financial collapse.
D.Cultivated meat may have a growing market.
11.How can the lab grown meat industry probably pollute the environment
A.Demand for a good climate. B.Occupy more land.
C.Cause more greenhouse gas emissions. D.Use conventional bioreactors.
12.What's the author's attitude to lab grown meat
A.Opposed. B.Favorable.
C.Uncaring. D.Reserved.

A study published earlier this year found that in some circumstances cultivated meat could be more polluting than the conventional stuff because the bioreactor is in great need of power to control its temperature. 动词不定式短语to control its temperature作目的状语。
