资源简介

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Josie and I wanted a dog more than anything else on Earth. At night, we’d slip out to the roof to talk about dogs after our parents went to bed.
One summer night, as we sat together on the roof, Josie saw something. “What’s that ”She pointed down toward a dark shadow on our driveway. I followed her finger and saw a big, black dog with long, shaggy hair. We climbed down onto the porch. Josie made a little kissing noise and held out her hand. It approached slowly. When she was close enough to pet, I ran my hand through her fur. She was so skinny that I could just about feel every bone, and her coat was tangled and full of dirt. She seemed to be a stray(流浪狗).
We decided to bring her some food. I slid into the kitchen to fill a bowl with milk and a couple of raw eggs. She lapped it up(舔饮), but as soon as she finished, she disappeared into the bushes.
The next day, we used all our saved money to buy dog food, including two cans of Woof Buddies, a small bag of kibble(狗粮), and beef tailbones. We hid the food as we were afraid our parents wouldn’t approve of us feeding a stray.
That night, as soon as we set a plate down, she appeared almost as if from nowhere. She sniffed it, but for some reason she wouldn’t eat it.
“Come on, ” I said. “Let’s leave her alone and see what happens. ” So we went in and hid to spy. Unexpectedly, she grabbed the plate in her mouth and ran away. By the time we rushed back outside, she and the food were long gone.
This went on a long time — four or five nights, maybe. One of the oddest parts of the whole thing was that even though the dog kept taking the food, she didn’t seem to be putting on any weight. If anything, she was getting even skinnier.
Then came that special night. She came, but this time she barked at us, whined(哀叫), and ran back and forth. I stroked her, “What’s it, girl What do you want ”

写作示范一
She barked again, ran toward the bushes, and turned to see if we were following. We exchanged a look of curiosity and followed her quickly. As we got closer to the bushes, we heard faint whimpers. When we pushed aside the branches, we were shocked to find several tiny puppies huddled together. They were so small and weak, their eyes not even fully open yet. No wonder the mother dog was so skinny. She had been saving all the food for her babies.
Seeing this, we decided to take her and her babies home together. We carefully carried the puppies in our hands and led the mother dog gently. Back home, we put them in a warm box with soft blankets. When our parents saw the dogs, we explained everything to them. To our relief, they were touched by the story and agreed to let us keep them. From then on, our home was filled with the sounds of barking and laughter, and our lives became more colorful with these lovely dogs around.
写作示范二
She barked again, ran toward the bushes, and turned to see if we were following. Our hearts pounded with excitement as we trailed behind her. Once we reached the thicket, the mother dog jumped in and we crouched down to peek inside. There, in a small hollow, were five little puppies, their fur still damp. They were clearly in desperate need of care. It all made sense now why the mother dog had been acting so strangely.
Seeing this, we decided to take her and her babies home together. We knew it would be a challenge to convince our parents, but we were determined. We brought the dogs inside and prepared a cozy corner for them. When our parents came into the room, we showed them the puppies and told them how we had found them. After a moment of hesitation, our parents smiled and nodded. With the dogs safely with us, we looked forward to a future filled with love and companionship.
One possible version:
She barked again, ran toward the bushes, and turned to see if we were following. We chased her closely. We ran across the field, darted between trees, threaded our way into another bush. There she stopped and stood perfectly still, panting and wagging her tail. Seeing that we were catching up, she whined, and disappeared through a dark hole in the wall of leaves and branches. We followed and broke through into a little clearing and could hardly believe what we’d found. At our feet lay four puppies, whining weakly. Bones and plates littered their small nest. The mother dog was nearby, feeble and exhausted. Obviously, she had saved all the food for her puppies but that was still far from enough.
Seeing this, we decided to take her and her babies home together. Running the risk of being scolded by our parents, we carefully picked up each puppy and carried them, the mother dog following closely behind, as if escorting. Fortunately, to our great relief, mama and papa were touched by the story and thereby things ended well for everybody: We turned to the local animal shelter for help, and they found good homes for the puppies, all close by. Josie and I ended up getting our dog after all-we adopted the mother who had been so selfless and brave to find help for her babies.
