Step 1. Lead-in Show the map of the world and encourage ss to ask and answer about animals with their partners. A: What’s your favorite animal B: It’s the koala. A: Where are koalas from B: They’re from Australia. A: Why do you like koalas B: Because they’re cute and friendly. A: Why don’t you like snakes B: Because they’re scary. Step 2. Grammar 1.Let Ss observe pictures on PPT and guide them to make sentences. These sentences have the same structure as sentences in grammar box. Then, let ss read the sentences together. Make sure Ss can understand the sentences. 2.Ask Ss to mark the question words. Check the answers. After that, ask ss to work in groups to find out the structure of special questions. (1)含义: 含有特殊疑问词的句子叫做特殊疑问句。 (2)区别: 一般疑问句可以用Yes或No来回答； 特殊疑问句必须回答所询问的具体信息。 (3)构成: 特殊疑问词+一般疑问句 The teacher presents some nouns. Encourage ss to work in groups and sum up the rules of changing countable nouns into plural forms. Watch the video to learn the rules about singular and plural forms of nouns. 一般情况下,直接+sbooks, bags以s,x,ch,sh结尾+esbuses, foxes, watches, brushes以f结尾,将f变v+esleaves以y结尾,将y变i+esstories以o结尾,少数情况+esnegroes, heroes, potatoes, tomatoes (黑人英雄爱吃西红柿和土豆)
Step 3. Practice 1.Make sure Ss can understand the instruction and sentences in plete the conversation with the words in the box. Underline the animal nouns. 2.Make the nouns in the box plural. Then use the plural nouns to complete the sentences. I like foxes because they’re smart. I don’t like sharks because they’re dangerous. 3. Complete the sentences. (1) Penguins are from Antarctica. ______ ______ penguins from Pandas can eat bamboos. ______ ______ pandas ______ My favorite animal is monkey. What’s your _____ ______ I like tigers because they’re brave. ______ ______ you like ______ Elephants can remember places with food and water. ______ ______ elephants ______ Step 4. Group Work The teacher encourages ss to work in groups and try to describe the animal in different aspects: looks, color and so on. Ss think of an animal. Ask and answer questions with a partner to guess each other’s animal. A: Is the animal’s tail long B: No, it isn’t. A: Is it black and white B: Yes, it is. A: Where is it from B: It’s from China. A: It’s a panda! B: Yes, you’re right! Step 5. Summary Let the students summarize the key knowledge in the lesson by themselves. Step 6. Homework Make 3 dialogues with your partner like 3d. Write dialogues on exercise book.
