My weekend
Aimed at experiencing life on farm, our class took part in/participated in an interesting picking activity on a modern farm last weekend, which turned out to be(证明是/结果是) extremely fruitful and meaningful.
The farm is far from the city, so we set off at 6:00 am, and it took us around/about two hours to get there by bus. On/Upon arriving at the farm（一到达农场）, what came into sight （进入眼帘的东西）were varieties of（各种各样的） fresh vegetables and fruit trees. Then we were divided into(被分成) two groups for a picking competition. One group was responsible for（负责） picking tomatoes and the other was in charge of(负责) picking apples. After one and a half hours’ hard work, both groups picked/harvested(收获) a lot, with our group being the winner.
Tired as we were, we had great fun and a sense of achievement. Through this activity, we have a better understanding of how hard the farmers are and how precious/valuable the food is. Therefore, we should treasure/value the food and make efforts to make the world better.

Last week witnessed the first Culture Festival themed “the Beauty of Chinese Traditional Culture” , which was held by our school.
The festival consisted of various activities, ranging from an ancient poetry recitation contest on Tuesday afternoon to a week-long exhibition, where hundreds of students’ traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy works were on display. What excited students most was that several celebrated actors were invited to perform Beijing Opera in the auditorium on Friday evening.
The cultural feast turned out to be a huge success, fueling students’ passion for our traditional culture and bringing them great joy. It was thought highly of by teachers and students and was regarded as a golden chance to gain a deeper insight into Chinese traditional culture.

Students’ Voluntary Work in a Community
Last Saturday witnessed a voluntary activity organized by the Students’ Union in the nearby community themed at“Step into the Community, Serve Everyone”, which was well received by the neighborhood.
The event was filled with meaningful activities. The voluntary work started from nine o’clock, lasting for three hours. Upon our arrival at the local community center, we began to conduct different tasks. Not only did we clean public spaces, but also we assisted the elderly with their daily tasks. Additionally, we organized a health awareness campaign, educating residents on healthy living habits.
All the students involved participated with great enthusiasm. I deeply realized the significance of community engagement and the fulfillment voluntary work brings. Through this activity, I' ve learned that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a great difference to our society.

Yesterday witnessed an extraordinary Chinese painting exhibition in the school hall, which was intended to further our understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
A great many artworks created by our fellow students are on display, ranging from figure paintings to landscape ones. Moreover, what appealed to me was the combination of painting, poetry and calligraphy. The paintings on show held my attention through.
The exhibition will last for one week, and whoever wants to feast your eyes on the beauty of diverse Chinese culture definitely can not miss it.
