My favorite festival is the Mid - Autumn Festival, which usually falls in September or October in the lunar calendar. It is a time for family reunion and enjoying the beauty of the full moon.
As the festival approaches, the streets are filled with the sweet smell of mooncakes. People start to buy all kinds of mooncakes, such as those with sweet bean paste, lotus seed paste, or egg yolk fillings. Mooncakes are round, just like the full moon, and they symbolize unity and togetherness.
On the evening of the Mid - Autumn Festival, my family gets together in the yard. We put a table outside, and on the table, there are mooncakes, fruits like grapes, apples, and pomegranates, and some nuts. The whole family sits around the table, chatting and waiting for the moon to rise.
When the moon slowly appears in the sky, it is so big, round, and bright. It seems to be closer to us than usual, shining its soft light on everything. We raise our heads, admiring the beautiful moon, and share stories about the moon. One of the most famous stories is about Chang'e, a beautiful lady who flew to the moon. We also tell some interesting things that happened to us recently, and everyone laughs happily.
