一般来说,句子中表达具体意思的实词多为重读,而虚词如冠词、连词、介词、人称代词、助动词、情态动词肯定式等弱读。

学习弱读时,我们还需要注意以下问题:
弱读时,音发得短而快。很多词有自己的弱读音形式(weak form)。
英语中的助动词和情态动词在句子开头往往弱读,在句子末尾一般重读。

B: Yes, I did (重读).
A: Are you feeling better
B: Yes, I am (重读).

It helps them keep warm.
e.g. Mary seldom eats sweet food and meat, so she keeps healthy / fit.

My parents keep busy these days.
