American Gongbao Chicken is sweeter than the Chinese one. It is less spicy. More sugar or ketchup makes it a milder, sweeter dish to fit American tastes.
Chinese Gongbao Chicken is from Sichuan. The flavor is a wonderful combination of spicy, sweet, and sour.
