Suddenly, I 47 a rickshaw and flagged it down. When I asked if he could take me to my destination, he readily agreed. After telling him the exact location, our 48 began.
I couldn’t help but wonder aloud, “Why do most rickshaw pullers always say no ” He replied in English, “Many of them are 49 . They don’t value time and are unwilling to work. 50 , they would rather sit and waste their lives.” As he spoke, I was 51 by how fluent his English was for an old Indian rickshaw puller.
Before I could fully process this, he continued our talk. “I am a BSC graduate and completed my graduation in the year 1975. By profession, I was a teacher for many years. Although I 52 a very poor family, that did not stop me from growing. I 53 managed to complete my studies with the hope of providing a better life for my family. Now that I’m 54 , I choose to pull a rickshaw. It’s not just for the money, but to keep myself going and to remain 55 so that I don’t feel the burden of being old and doing nothing.” His words were truly 56 .
In the blink of an eye, we reached my destination. I 57 , paid him, and thanked him. This 58 made me realize that education is of greatest importance in our lives. A kindergarten student River Vandenberg made a fascinating discovery while exploring the west beach of Belle River. Near a jetty (堤) , he spotted a 181 bottle in the sand. Driven by curiosity, River opened the bottle and found a letter inside. At first, he thought the note was a 182 one, but closer inspection revealed it was dated all the way back to 1998.
In 1998, fourth-grade students at St. John School in Belle River, Ontario, participated in a project 183 by the book Paddle-to-the-Sea. Under the guidance of their teacher, Roland, the students wrote letters about the Great Lakes, sealed (密封) them in plastic bottles, and released them into Lake St. Clair. One such letter was 184 by then-student Makenzie Morris.
Makenzie Morris, 185 by her former teacher and her two children, held the message in the bottle she cast into Lake St. Clair 26 years ago. Seated in the same area where she 186 released the bottle, she 187 the project vividly, noting the novelty (新奇) of using the school’s computer to type the letters and the 188 of sealing the bottles with wax (蜡) . She expressed surprise and 189 at the letter’s discovery, saying, “It was 190 to do something like that, throw something and think maybe someone will find it later.”
Retired teacher Roland, who 191 the project, was also moved by the bottle’s 192 . He reflected on the unexpectedly long-lasting bottles, stating, “For it to survive 26 years without 193 , it was a real shock.”

Weighing yourself regularly is a wonderful way to stay aware of any significant weight fluctuations (波动). 211 , when done too often, this habit can sometimes hurt more than it 212 .
As for me, weighing myself every day caused me to shift my focus from being generally healthy and physically active to focusing 213 on the scale. That was bad to my overall fitness goals. I had gained weight in the form of muscle mass, but thinking only of 214 the number on the scale, I altered my training program. That conflicted with how I needed to train to 215 my goals.
I also found that weighing myself daily did not provide an accurate 216 of the hard work and progress I was making in the gym. It takes about three weeks to a month to notice any significant changes in your weight 217 altering your training program. The most 218 changes will be observed in skill level, strength and inches lost.
For these 219 , I stopped weighing myself every day and switched to a bimonthly weighing schedule 220 . Since weight loss is not my goal, it is less important for me to 221 my weight each week. Weighing every other week allows me to observe and 222 any significant weight changes. That tells me whether I need to 223 my training program. I use my bimonthly weigh-in 224 to get information about my nutrition as well. If my training intensity remains the same, but I’m constantly 225 and dropping weight, this is a 226 that I need to increase my daily caloric intake.
The 227 to stop weighing myself every day has done wonders for my overall health, fitness and well-being. I’m experiencing increased zeal for working out since I no longer carry the burden of a 228 morning weigh-in. I’ve also experienced greater success in achieving my specific fitness goals, 229 I’m training according to those goals, not the numbers on a scale. Rather than 230 over the scale, turn your focus to how you look, feel, how your clothes fit and your overall energy level.
