【详解】 这是形容词最高级的用法。 当三者或三者以上相比较,表示最高级时,用“the + 最高级”的结构表示, 这种句式一般有表示范围的介词短语,本句中in this hall就表示范围。
句型结构:主语 + 谓语(be动词) + the + 形容词最高级 + 名词 + 表示范围的短语或从句.
E.g. She is the best student in her class.

2.形容词最高级变化规则：
Language points
- 一般情况：单音节形容词和少数双音节形容词在词尾加-est。例如：tall→tallest，short→shortest。
- 以不发音e结尾：直接加-st。例如：nice→nicest，large→largest。
- 以“辅音字母+y”结尾：变y为i，再加-est。例如：happy→happiest，busy→busiest。
- 以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节：双写该辅音字母，再加-est。例如：big→biggest，hot→hottest。
【详解】 这组对话用于询问和回答某人的身高。
句型结构: How tall + be动词 + 主语
　　 回答: 主语 + be动词 + 数词 + metre(s) .
