【语法点拨】数词知识点：
1.基数词的读法：
1）“几十几”十位和个位之间用连字符“—”。 e.g. 32 thirty-two
2）101—999 百位和十位间加“and”。 e.g. 928 nine hundred and twenty-eight
3）1000以上的数，从后往前每三位一段，倒数第一个数读thousand，倒数第二个数读million，依次类推。 e.g. 8,542,601 eight million, five hundred and forty-three thousand, six hundred and one
2.基数词的部分用法
1）表顺序。由单数名词 + 基数词，此时名词和基数词第一个字母大写。
如：Class One, Room Five, Lesson Ten, Page 108, No. 9 Middle School
2）确数与概数的表达
具体数字：基数词+ hundred, thousand, million, billion（不加s） e.g. six hundred students
概数：hundreds, thousands, millions, billions+ of +名词的复数 数以百/千/百万/十亿计的……
E.g. Thousands of visitors have come to Hangzhou in the last two weeks.
** 辨析：hundreds of students 数百名学生
two hundred students 两百名学生
two hundred of the students 众多学生其中的两百个
3）another+基数词+名词复数= 基数词+more+名词复数 表示再增加一定的数量，意思是“再、又、还”。
He ate another two cakes. = He ate two more cakes. 他又吃了两块蛋糕。
We need one more hour to finish the work. = We need another hour to finish the work
4）表示人的不确切岁数或年代，用几十的复数形式表示。
①表年龄: in one’s + 整十的复数,表示在某人几十岁时 e.g.He became a professor in his thirties．
②表示年代: in the + 年份的复数,在几世纪几十年代. It was in the 1960s．那是在二十世纪六十年代。
3.基数词变序数词的规律
基变序，有规律，末尾加上 th four ---> fourth fourteen ---> fourteenth
一二三，特殊记，末尾字母 t,d,d one--->first two --->second three --->third
八减t，九去e，f要把ve替 eight ---> eighth nine ---> ninth five ---> fifth; twelve--->twelfth
整十：ty把y变为ie，再加th twenty--->twentieth; forty--->fortieth; ninety--->ninetieth
如果遇到几十几，只变个位就可以 twenty-one--->twenty-first； thirty-three--->thirty-third
注意：
1）第一百、第一千、第一百万分别在相对应的基数词的后面直接加－th。
例如：hundredth，thousandth，millionth。
2）易错易混淆：fourth, fourteenth, fortieth ； ninth, nineteenth, ninetieth
【拓展】序数词的缩写形式
序数词的缩写形式由阿拉伯数字加上序数词的最后两个字母构成.前三个数字时。特殊情况,分别是:
first→1st　second→2nd　 third→3rd 之后的均是在最后的数字后加“-th”。
例如：forth→4th　　 twenty-first→21st 　 ninety-fifth→95th
4.序数词的用法
序数词的前面一般要用定冠词the表示第几的意思。
You are the second one to know the way. 你是第二个知道方法的人。
表示编号时，经常把基数词放在名词的前面表示顺序，相当于the＋序数词＋名词。
Lesson Five＝the fifth lesson 第五课 in Grade 7=in the seventh grade在七年级
序数词可以表示日期。例如：March 18th, 1978 　（1978年3月18日）
表示分数的时候，分子用基数词，分母用序数词，当分子大于1的时候，分母用复数形式即：在th的后面加字母s。例：1/3 one third或a third 3/4 three fourths或 three quarters
序数词在名词的前面经常作定语修饰名词，但是当名词的前面已经有了物主代词的时候，序数词的前面不加the。例如：This is my third question. 这是我的第三个问题。
起副词作用，前无“the” e.g. Simon came first in the English exam.
★序数词前常要加定冠词 the；但若序数词前出现不定冠词a或an时,则表示“再一”“又一”。

Around the world, people live in homes in many shapes and sizes. In the countryside, people live together with their family in a huge house with gardens or backyards. In cities, the buildings are usually very close together.
A home can be any kind of building— large or small. Some people even have homes on boats, in tents or in caravans that can be moved around. Caravans are mobile homes. They are towed(拖,拉) by either a car or a huge truck. Some of them are holiday homes. We can see many families stay together in these caravans.
In the past, rich and important people built strong castles(城堡) to keep their families safe. The castles were built on the top of hills with high walls and some even had moats(护城河). Moats were deep and wide ditches(沟;渠) filled with water. They made it difficult for enemies to attack.
