On July 18th,2017, Mike and his parents went to Qingdao, 1 city in Shandong for summer vacation. Qingdao is a beautiful city with sea.

Nowadays, students’ grades are showed in many different ways in school. Recently, some schools just give students some comments in a card, in which to describe the skills a student needs to work on without giving letter grades such as A or exact numbers.
These schools give out their reasons.The grades don’t say much about which skills a student has learned,What’s more, it can prevent the parents from comparing their children with others. In fact, they think that worse grade just means you are having a hard time with it. It might also mean you turn in your homework pared with the letter grades or exact numbers, a teacher’s comment can give more information. Besides, it can protect students’ privacy and avoid hurting children’s self-esteem.
After knowing this, many students feel happy because they don’t need to be compared with others. More importantly, they don’t need to feel embarrassed if their grades are not good. Many parents also feel that the letter grades or number grades are outdated. It’s time to habit cures habit. We should try new ways to change the standard, old ways may be not suitable for students now.
In fact, the letters and numbers on report cards send the wrong messages, And actually the grades or ranking of an exam can’t evaluate(评价) that a student is a “good” one or a “bad” one. Rather than focus on grades, students should pay close attention to the teacher’s comments. They will guide students in the steps to improve.
