David’s blog I’m from the UK. At my school, sports can be very relaxing. You don’t have to go to a 40-minute class each week. Instead, we get to pick when we want to play sports. Also, there is a great number of sports to choose from, so everyone can find something they enjoy. We can take lessons in swimming, rock climbing, dancing, soccer and badminton. We don’t have exams for sports . What are PE classes like in your country posted on May 15th at 19:50 post a comment
At my school, we have a few units (单元) about sports and exercise to learn about. During each unit, we practice key skills for the sport. For example, for basketball, we practice passing and shooting. At the end of each unit, we have a test. For tennis, we spend the whole unit passing the ball to each other. So for the test, we need to pass it at least 10 times without stopping to get a score of 100. Antonio, Mexico
In my school, every afternoon from 3:30 to 5 pm is PE time. In PE classes, students usually just do practice, like running in the gym and more. However, people in the US love sports a lot. Sports team training is another kind of PE. Every school has its own sports teams, for example, American football, baseball, basketball, tennis and much more. Richie was Sadie’s whole world. Sadie had loved to play basketball before her accident, and it was Richie who taught her to play again. At first, she was so upset that she did not want to get out of bed. Richie was always there to encourage her to play basketball again. He even borrowed a wheelchair for himself to help her practice.
But lately, Richie preferred to hang out with his new high school friends. Sadie would watch from the house as he washed his new car. When he drove away, tears filled Sadie’s eyes. For many of us, there’s nothing better than burying our head in a good book. Whether it’s a crime story or a biography of someone’s amazing life, it’s good to read a book to break from the worries of everyday life and help us relax. Maybe that’s why some of them are actually regarded as a way to treat the sickness.
It’s known that reading is good for us. It can be educational, and, as some say, it can open the mind. A good novel can make us happy or sad, or make us cry as we feel pity for the characters. The power of books was realized a few years ago by the British Charity Reading Agency (BCRA), who came out a list of books that doctors could offer to patients, dealing with different diseases. It called this “bibliography (参考文献)” and it’s become so successful that it’s about to be used for educating children as well.
Professor Philip Davis studies the effects of books at Liverpool University and is the writer of a book called Reading for Life. He studies people in reading groups and found that reading has art values that has the best effect. He told the BBC that when reading something for pleasure, the brain begins to work from different parts, and it gets excited, and you can see the brain coming to life.
Of course, it’s easy in our smartphone generation to put away a good book and play with our phones instead. But opening up a book could be a simple way to help increase or keep our mind health. It’s thought they can help you set goals and find the keys. And they may allow you to see that embarrassing situation you’ve been worried about for weeks by standing in others’ shoes.
If you’re not an experienced reader it can be hard to know where to begin. If the Reading Agency book list doesn’t interest you, you could read book reviews, visit a library or bookshop or ask a friend. Once you’ve found the right text, you’ll lose yourself in it! And if you still love your technology, you could always use an e-reader.
23.Who may have benefited (受益) from the books of the BCRA
A.Doctors. B.Patients. C.Nurses. D.Visitors.

China-made autonomous (自动的) sweepers are catching attention all over the world, as the country uses its technology in the field of sanitation (公共卫生).

How to Begin Running
Running does good to your health. You can start running right away by following the next steps.
31 Now the best way to start running is simply to put on a pair of running shoes and start running. Run until your legs are burning and your chest is heaving; for true beginners, that usually takes place after about 5—10 minutes.
32 This is how you build endurance (忍耐力). Running once a week won’t be enough. Space out the days to allow your body to have a rest. This will help condition your body and get yourself used to running. This will be hard at first, but you will get stronger and start to feel more comfortable running.
33 As the weeks go on, push yourself to run further and for a longer period of time. If you ran 10 minutes at a time the first week, push yourself to do 15 minutes the second week. 34 You’ll soon find that you’re able to go much longer before you feel like you have to stop.
Don’t give up too soon. After a few runs, you might think you aren’t fit for running. You’ll think to yourself, shouldn’t this be more fun by now Why does it hurt so much 35 Tell yourself you’ll give it at least two weeks before throwing in the towel. After a few weeks of pushing yourself you’ll start having more fun. Eventually you’ll realize you don’t want to miss a run.
A.Just keep going.
B.Go outside and run.
C.Join a running group.
D.Add time and distance.
E.Run at least three days a week.
F.Make it 20 minutes the third week.
