教学过程
1. Have students read the sentences about syllables and the table on page 13 and answer the following questions. (1) What is a syllable (2) How many syllables may a word have Answer: (1) A syllable usually contains a vowel sound with or without consonants. (2) A word may have one, two or more syllables. 2. Have students listen to the recording of the words in the table on page 13 and read along. Have them clap their hands as they say each syllable in each word. 3. Have students observe the last group of words in the table on page 13 and answer the following question. When will a word have an extra syllable Answer: Sometimes when we add -(e)s to a word, the word will have an extra syllable. 4. Have students read more plural nouns and pay attention to the last syllable of each word. 5. Have students listen to the recording and divide the words in Part A on page 13 into syllables. Answer: 1 like 2 com fort a ble 3 bal co ny 4 vil lage 5 num ber 6 sec ond 7 beau ti ful 8 some times 6. Have students finish Part A on page 13. Have students listen to the poem in Part C on page 13 and circle the words with more than one syllable. Have students listen to the recording of the poem in Part C and read along. And have them pay attention to the syllables in the words. 10.
