通过本课时的学习，学生能够： 1. 获取和梳理三位博主的住宅位置、住宅类型、家中区域及家庭活动等关键信息，形成语篇的结构化知识。 2. 运用语篇中用于描述家庭的词汇和句型表达，介绍他人的住宅位置、住宅类型、喜爱的家中区域和家庭活动。 3. 谈论自己喜爱的住宅类型和在家庭生活中能为父母分担的事情，深化对家的理解，增进对家的热爱。
教学内容
教学重点： 了解、梳理三位博主的住宅位置、住宅类型、家中区域及家庭活动等关键信息。 教学难点： 谈论自己喜爱的住宅类型和在家庭生活中能为父母分担的事情，深化对家的理解。
教学过程
1. Have students review what they have learnt in “Welcome to the unit”. Then have students look at the pictures in Part A on page 7 and answer the following question. What types of houses are these in the pictures Answer: They are a modern house, flats, town houses, a cottage, a farmhouse and mobile homes. 2. Have students answer the two questions on page 8 before reading the blog posts. Possible answer: (1) I live in a flat in a tall building. There are four rooms in my flat. I have my own bedroom. It’s small but comfortable. (2) I like to read books with my family in the living room at the weekend. 3. Have students look at the three pictures on page 8 and answer the following questions. (1) What are the students doing in the pictures (2) How do they feel Possible answer: (1) The girl in picture 1 is cooking with her parents. The two boys in picture 2 are watering the flowers. The boy in picture 3 is picking cotton. (2) I think they are very happy because I can see smiles on their faces. 4. Have students read the title and the rubrics on page 8 and answer the following questions. (1) What do you think the three passages are about (2) What type of text are the three passages Possible answer: (1) They may be about different homes around the world. (2) They are blog posts. 5. Have students skim the blog posts and then answer the following question. Whose homes are the blog posts about Answer: The blog posts are about Li Mengtian’s, Neil’s and Femi’s homes. 6. Have students scan the blog posts and complete the chart in Part A on page 9.
