教学内容
教学重点： 描述不同类型的住宅及其特点，陈述自己最喜爱的家中区域及原因，感受住宅的多样性。 教学难点： 生成新的对话，与同伴交流自己家庭的住宅类型、最喜爱的家中区域及原因。
教学过程
1. Have students look at the picture on page 6 and answer the following questions. What can you see in the picture Possible answer: I can see a happy family in the picture. Where are they probably Possible answer: Maybe they are in the living room of their home. What are they doing Possible answer: The mother and her daughter are playing with their dog. The father is playing Chinese chess with his son and the grandpa is watching there. The grandma is knitting a sweater on the sofa. 2. Have students read the unit overview on page 6 and answer the following question. What will we do in this unit Answer: In this unit, we will read about homes around the world, learn about different kinds of home life, describe our dream home and better understand how different families show love. 3. Have students talk about different types of houses. (1) Have students finish Part A on page 7. Answer: 1. modern house 2. flat 3. town house 4. cottage 5. farmhouse 6. mobile home (2) Have students answer the following questions. What type of house do you live in What do you like to do in your home Possible answer: I live in a flat in a tall building. I like to watch films with my family at home. 4. Have students listen to Simon and Will’s conversation in Part B on page 7 and complete the table. (1) Why does Will like the study best (2) Why does Simon like his bedroom the most Answer: (1) Because there are hundreds of books in the study, and it’s relaxing to read books there. (2) Because it’s a room of his own, and he can put up his favourite pictures on the wall. 6. Have students use their own words to introduce Will’s and Simon’s homes. Possible answer: Will lives in a town house in the west of London. In his house, he likes the study best. There are hundreds of books in it. It’s relaxing to read books there. Simon lives in a flat in a tall building. He likes his bedroom the most because it’s a room of his own, and he can put up his favourite pictures on the wall. 7. Have students listen to the recording and read along, and then read in different roles. 8. Have students work in pairs and talk about their homes using the conversation in Part B as a model. I like ... the most because ... B: That’s nice/great/...! 9. Have students finish Part C on page 7. Possible answer: I know a type of house called an igloo. It is often made of snow.
