Part 2: 助学短文
(读文章,结合语境,写出加粗词汇含义)
Last summer, I joined a team to look after animals in Africa. We saw a giraffe with a long neck eating leaves, and a fox running through the forest. However, some animals were in danger. People cut down too many trees, and sharks in the ocean faced dangerous fishing.
One day, we found a blind elephant with a hurt trunk. It couldn't use its hearing well, but we tried to save it. We also learned about Thai culture in Thailand, where they protect elephants from being killed for ivory.
Though the work was hard, it was quite a meaningful experience. The penguins in Antarctica and huge whales in the sea all need our care. Remember, even small actions can save these animals. Let's take care of our planet – it's not difficult at all!
