“基数词＋meter(s) deep”是“深度”的一种表达法。其中meter为表示度量的单位名词，意为“米；公尺”，类似的单位词还有foot英尺、inch英寸、kilogram千克等。
如：The lake is eight feet deep.这个湖有八英尺深。
【拓展】长度、宽度、高度等的表达方式
(1)基数词＋单位词＋形容词(long, wide, high，deep等)
(2)基数词＋单位词＋in＋名词( length，width, height，depth等)

考点 protect的用法
作及物动词，意为“保护；防护”，其后常接名词或代词作宾语。常用短语为protect... from/against…，意为“保护……不受……(的伤害)”。

feel free是英语口语中的一个常用表达。feel free to do sth.意为“无需拘束做某事”。

as far as I know意为“就我所知”，其中 as far as是固定表达方式，意为“就……而言；至于……”，在句中做状语，强调程度或范围。类似的表达有as far as I can see“依我所见”。
