My phone rang. It was a text from an unfamiliar number, showing a photo of a smiling man in his 30s. "What a strange picture to receive!" I thought to myself.
For the past three years, I have been getting texts meant for this man, Jared. When the second text came, I was a playful sixth grader.
"My Mom just told me that the Football Club will host a free barbeque dinner on Saturday! Hope you all will enjoy it, " it said.
"YUMMMY!" I carefully responded.
The story of Jared became deeper. I learned that he was part of the" Bowery Mission, " which sounded like a gaming group. Looking it up, I realized it was an organization that helped poor families. This was around the same time I stopped volunteering in my community. I spent more time taking art classes and trying different sports. I then joined the group texts. When a message came about donating food, I texted back, "Count me in!"
However, I started to feel bad about this lie. A man sent a long message, talking about the hopeless moments in his life. As I imagined what a good friend Jared could be, I felt ashamed that I was unable to provide the support this man needed and realized that I was not even a good listener to my own friends.
Throughout this time, I noticed how much Jared's life has changed and I have also been discovering who I am. Learning from Jared, I have grown out of the naughty self, made more efforts tor my community, and become a more understanding friend. Last month, I received another text. Yet, I replied:" Hey, sorry, this is-not Jared, but I hope he is doing well. "

A.Jared stopped going to the charity.
B.Jared would like to join in a donation event.
C.The writer was curious about a gaming group.

27.(2分)Why did the writer feel bad about the lie

C.She was not a good listener for the man.
D.She was unable to support her friends.
28.(2分)Which of the following is the best title for the article

A new study examines possible harm caused by microscopic pieces of plastic that end up inside people's bodies. These materials -known as microplastics and nanoplastics - can enter the body through the air or in food or drinks.
One new study suggests the buildup of such plastics inside the body can increase the risk of a stroke, heart attack or death. But the researchers noted the evidence presented cannot prove a direct link between tiny plastic materials and heart problems.
The study involved 257 people who had medical operations to clear blocked blood vessels (血管) in their necks. Italian researchers examined the fatty buildup the doctors removed from the carotid arteries, which supply blood and oxygen to the brain. Using two methods, they found evidence of plastics-mostly nanoplastics that cannot be seen-in the artery plaque(动脉斑块)of 150 patients. No evidence of plastics was seen in 107 patients.
The team followed these people for three years. During that time, 30 individuals, or 20 percent of the group with plastics, had a heart attack, stroke, or died from any cause. These rates dropped to about eight percent among those with no evidence of plastics. Research results were recently published in a study in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The researchers admitted their study was very small. For example, it only looked at people with narrowed arteries who were already at risk for heart attacks and stroke.
Steve Nissen is a heart expert at the Cleveland Clinic in the state of Ohio who was not part of the study. He told the Associated Press he thinks the team's estimate that the risk of heart attack, stroke or death was four times greater seems too high. "It would mean that these microplastics are the most important cause of coronary heart disease (冠心病) yet discovered. And I just don't think that's likely to be right," Nissen said. "Maybe, it's just a wake-up call that perhaps we need to take the problem of microplastics more seriously." Nissen added.
29.(2分)How did the researchers carry out their study
A.By doing online surveys.
B.By interviewing participants.
C.By comparing with former experiments.
D.By conducting experiments and analyzing data.
30.(2分)What did the team find about the 150 patients
A.They were in good health before the study.
B.No evidence of plastics were found in them.
C.20 percent of them died from heart attacks.
D.They developed many more health problems than the 107 patients.
31.(2分)What can be inferred from Nissen's words
A.There was no relationship between microplastics and heart diseases.
B.We should pay more attention to the harm of microplastics to our body.
C.The result proved a direct link between tiny plastic materials and heart problems.
D.The result was inaccurate because they only looked at people with narrowed arteries.
32.(3分)Which of the following is the best title of the passage
A.Tiny plastic materials -- Harmful to our body
B.Tiny plastic materials --Exist in our body
C.Tiny plastic materials --A leading cause of our health.
D.Tiny plastic materials -- A direct reason for heart diseases.

63.(25分)阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
One day my grandfather gave me a gift —a piggy bank. It had an opening through which one could put money in, but the opening was not big enough to reach in and get the money out. The only way to get at the money was to
break the piggy bank open. My grandfather explained that was the whole idea: the piggy bank would help save my money so that, at the end of the year, I might have enough for that bike I dreamt about. He asked if I would put some of the money he gave me into the piggy bank. I agreed immediately and promised that I wouldn't break it open until I could afford my dream bike.
Whenever he gave me a little bit of money, he would say, "This is for spending. But you can save some and put it in the piggy bank if you want to save it up." When he gave me larger amounts, it was clearly for saving in the
piggy bank. For some time, this worked fine. I loved shaking the piggy bank and hearing the sound of the coins. As it became heavier, I grew more excited, dreaming about buying my new bike, and all the adventures I could have on it.
Whenever I wanted to take some money from the piggy bank to buy delicious ice-creams or beautiful pens, I would imagine riding my bike on the street, and thinking of that, my thoughts about ice-creams or pens went away.
So for almost six months, I only put money into the piggy bank without taking any out. I thought I wouldn't break my piggy bank for anything. But one day something unexpected happened. I saw a piece of news on the television that a serious earthquake had happened in a nearby province. As many houses were destroyed, a lot of children became homeless. Seeing their shabby clothes and crying faces, I was sleepless that night.

63.【答案】I knew I should do something. I went to my piggy bank and was about to break it and withdraw money when my mind came back to the bike I wanted to buy, and I hesitated. Thinking of the look in the eyes of the children hoping for help in the earthquake, I grabbed the piggy bank and threw it to the ground. Suddenly, the coins rolled all over the floor. "Yes, those children need help and need the money more." I said to myself.
My grandfather was surprised by my behavior. When he realized what had happened, he fondly touched my head and said, "Good boy, you did the right thing. Grandpa is proud of you." He continued," My dear grandson, you deserve that bicycle. As a bonus, let's buy that bike together now. Then, go for a spring outing by bike. "Thank you, Grandpa." I was overwhelmed with happiness.
