About a year ago, our family dishwasher broke. My dad had just left for a work trip, and my mom was too busy with endless housework. So I offered to do the dishes 1 to help her out although I had never washed the dishes alone before.

On one special day, President Roosevelt visited the North Rim and planned to create a park in the canyon. Soon 10 arrived and started their work. Whack! Whack! Whack! The unusual sounds caught Brighty’s attention. Feeling 11 , he went towards the sounds and couldn’t believe his eyes. The men were busily building a bridge to connect the North and South Rims. Immediately, the men made 12 help build the bridge with his strong back.
At last, the bridge was 13 . President Roosevelt gave Brighty an honour: he would be the first to walk over the bridge because he was the oldest and most 14 inhabitant (居民) of the Grand Canyon.
