even though 即使; 尽管; 虽然
作从属连词, 引导让步状语从句。 当让步状语从句位于主句前时，其后通常加逗号与主句隔开。
e.g. Even though she is 86, she can still take care of herself.
She can still take care of herself even though she is 86.
【注意】
even though和but不能同时出现在同一个句子中，但二者连接的句子可以互相转换。
e.g. Even though the book was expensive, I still bought it.
= The book was expensive but I still bought it.
【语境应用】完成句子。

3. It’s been around for as long as I can remember.
自从我记事起它就一直在那儿了。
as long as也可引导条件状语从句，意为“只要”，相当于so long as。
e.g. As / So long as you are happy, it doesn’t matter what job you do.
as long as 长达……；和……一样长
e.g. You can stay here as long as you want.

【语境应用】翻译句子。
1)只要你打电话，我就会来看你。
2)这两个人在山里植树长达15年之久。
3)这根绳子(rope)和那根一样长。
