All the carbs like rice are bad for us.
Not all carbs are unhealthy.
There are different types of carbs. Some carbs, like those in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, are good for us. They give us energy and help our bodies work well. But some other carbs, like those in sugary drinks and white bread, are not so good.
Brainstorm
Brainstorm other beliefs about healthy food and eating habits. Which do you think are true Discuss your ideas.
You must drink 8 glasses of water every day.
It depends.
The amount of water people need is different. It depends on many things. Like your age, how much you weigh, and how active you are. If you exercise a lot or it's very hot, you need to drink more water. And some foods, like fruits and vegetables, have water in them. So you don't always have to drink eight glasses of water every day.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Breakfast is important. After sleeping all night, our bodies need energy. Eating breakfast gives us the energy to study and play. It also helps us think clearly in class. And if we have breakfast, we won't be too hungry and eat too much at lunch. So, breakfast is really the most important meal of the day.

Eating after 8:00 p.m. makes you gain weight.
It depends on total calories, not eating time.
If you eat too many calories after 8:00 p.m., you might gain weight. But a small, low-calorie snack probably won’t make you fat. At night, metabolism(新陈代谢) is slower and we move less. So eating lots of junk food after 8:00 p.m. without exercise can lead to weight gain.
Brainstorm
Brainstorm other beliefs about healthy food and eating habits. Which do you think are true Discuss your ideas.
All sugar is bad for you.
Not all sugar is bad.
Natural sugars in fruits can give us energy. They're not harmful. But added sugars in processed foods and drinks, like candy and soda, are bad. Eating too much of them can cause health problems like obesity and tooth decay. We just need to control how much sugar we take in and pick better sources.
Brainstorm
Brainstorm other beliefs about healthy food and eating habits. Which do you think are true Discuss your ideas.
It’s OK to eat lots of sugar-free foods.
“Sugar-free” foods aren’t truly sugar-free.
They may have sugar alcohols (糖醇)that can change blood sugar. And they often have lots of fat or calories. Eating too much can make you gain weight. Also, overeating any food is bad for your health. So don’t eat too many sugar-free foods.

Eating egg yolks(蛋黄) properly is good for your body.
Egg yolks are rich in nutrients. They have a lot of high-quality protein and they are also full of many vitamins. Lecithin(卵磷脂) in egg yolks is a very useful thing for our bodies. Also, lutein(叶黄素) and zeaxanthin(玉米黄质) protect eyesight. But they have cholesterol(胆固醇), so don't eat too many.
