Dear fellow students,
I am delighted to introduce our upcoming event, "Campus Clean-Up Day," which will take place this
Saturday.
This activity is designed to promote the value of labor and encourage everyone to take part in creating a
better environment. We will clean classrooms, collect litter, and plant flowers around the campus. All tools
will be provided, and no prior experience is needed. This is a great opportunity to work together, learn new
skills, and contribute to our school community.
Let’s join hands and make our campus a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone!
Yours sincerely
Lihua
One possible version:
Sensing my struggle, Mom encouraged me to give it a try. Looking into her earnest eyes, I knew I had
to think twice before making the final decision. That night, I tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. What
if I gave up the gold chance What if I failed to get along well with the new fellows Finally, the burning
desire to attend the camp beat the fear of facing the unknown. Taking a deep breath, I filled in the application
for the camp.
The decision to attend the art camp proved worthwhile. There were so many amazing activities that
time just flew before I knew it. Not only did it open a new window of painting for me but also I overcame
the shyness I’d always felt before when I met strangers. I became confident and easygoing, willing to
express myself and make friends with other kids. I knew that if I wanted to grow better, I had to reach out
beyond my comfort zone.
听力原文:
1. 【原文】W: Are you free tomorrow I’d like to invite you to go cycling.
M: Yes. I’d like to go with you. In the morning or in the afternoon
W: I haven’t decided yet. I’ll text you later tonight.
2. 【原文】M: I’m interested in the house. Is it conveniently located
W: Yes. There is a bus station about a five-minute walk from the house. I can drive you there to see the
house tomorrow.
M: That would be fine.
3. 【原文】W: I hear your team found a type of endangered frog in the wild. Did you just leave them there
M: No. We have taken them to a zoo. We want to start a programme to help the population of the species
grow.
4. 【原文】W: I’m sorry, Mr Smith. I have an appointment with you at three, but I’m afraid I’ll have to be
half an hour late.
M: It doesn’t matter. I’ll be available before four thirty.
W: Thanks for understanding.
5. 【原文】W: You know, my daughter was once a world champion.
M: Oh, I heard of that. You must be proud of her, right
W: Yes. She began to swim in 2004 and then joined a swimming club in 2010. Four years later, she set a
world record.
【原文】W: Wow! I didn’t know you can speak French.
M: I spent three years in Lyon. My father worked there in a computer company. Then I entered a university
in Marseille. What about you Have you ever been to France
W: No, I haven’t. But my brother stayed in Paris for six months on a school exchange.
M: I once made a tour of Paris while I was in France. It’s a wonderful city. If possible, pay a visit there.
【原文】M: Welcome, please come in.
W: Thank you, sir.
M: That’s all right. We have you for this afternoon, right So, at that time, I mostly need you in the kitchen. I
need you to sweep and clean the floor and clean the bowls.
W: No problem.
M: Then, please clean the living room and the hallway. After that, clean the toilet and the bathroom. Also,
take out the rubbish. Well, there are some dirty clothes in the bathroom. You needn’t do the washing.
W: All right, sir. Let’s talk about the pay. I can make 14 dollars each hour, right
M: Yes. And I think it will take four or five hours to finish the work.
W: Yeah.
【原文】M: Tina, has your phone run out of power I called you half an hour ago at home to cancel the
meeting in the library, but I couldn’t get through. So I have to come here to meet you.
W: Sorry. Why did you cancel the meeting
M: There is a football game on TV and I don’t want to miss it.
W: Oh, I tried to answer it, but my phone kept freezing. I could hardly use it.
M: Let me have a look! Oh, you do have a lot of pictures, apps and videos on the phone. It is too full to work
properly.
W: Really What should I do
M: You could put most of your videos and pictures on your computer.
W: But I like to keep everything on my phone!
M: Then you will need a new phone with large memory. That will solve the problem.
【原文】W: Hey, Jeff, welcome back! How was your vacation with Ted
M: Oh, it was great. First, we saw our cousin Edmund, who just moved there. He hadn’t seen much of the
city himself, so we went to all the tourist spots together. We went shopping, saw a play and went to a concert
in Central Park. We did all of those in a day.
W: That was crazy. You guys must have been tired.
M: Yeah. But the rest of my trip was pretty relaxing. Ted rented a car and we took a road trip to the north of
New York to visit my old classmate George.
W: How long did you stay there
M: We were only there for two days and got back last night. My flight was at 8 o’clock this morning. But it
was canceled. I was on another flight that had a three-hour stay in Chicago. That was a major pain.
W: Well, I’m glad you came back safe and sound. And you even have the weekend to rest up.
M: Yeah, I’ll need it. You’ll see me refreshed at work on Monday.

Felix’s journey of self-discovery led him to the United States. In his first semester, Felix decided to
major in engineering, believing it to be the path to greatness. However, as he sat in his class listening to the
professor, he realized he couldn’t understand the lesson just like his classmates. He lost heart. Then Felix
changed his major to business administration, thinking it would lead him to financial success. He dove
headfirst into accounting and economics classes. Unfortunately, he found himself a lost number in a sea of
calculations.
One day, while assisting a professor with an English class, Felix discovered his hidden talent for
language and communication. He realized that his passion lay in the power of words and their ability to connect people. With newfound excitement, Felix decided to become an English teacher.
Felix’s journey didn’t stop in the United States. Armed with a degree in English, he didn’t go to
