Last summer, I joined the SSP Panda Volunteer Camp and travelled to Chengdu, Sichuan. We set off on August 7. Early in the morning, my teammates and I arrived at Wolong National Panda Nature Reserve (卧龙国家级熊猫自然保护区). It’s the biggest panda reserve in China. The worker there told us many interesting facts about the animals.
Pandas are lovely, but they are very lazy. Every day, they spend about ten hours sleeping and twelve hours eating. Yes, they only spend two hours doing exercise!
Pandas like to eat carrots and bamboo. They eat as much as they can. No wonder they are very fat!
We helped the workers at the reserve feed the pandas and clean the yard where the animals lived and played. My job was to pick up the leftover bamboo and replace it with fresh bamboo. The temperature at the reserve was high. It took me about half an hour to finish my tasks. It was truly tiring and I sweated (出汗) a lot.
We also visited the panda exhibition room. We learned about different kinds of bamboo. We found out pandas’ favorites as well as why baby pandas die so easily.
Having spent 5 days at the reserve, I truly experienced and learned so much. Finally, our volunteer tour came to an end on August 11. After the trip, I was also lost in thought. Pandas are in great danger. I hope everyone will be aware of their situation. All of us should know that it’s our responsibility to protect the environment and make an effort to prevent pandas from extinction. If we do nothing, we won’t have any of them and our world will be bleak.

If you have a question, you may want to get a quick answer online. Some technology companies are working to make this come true by developing chatbots. They are computer programmes that can communicate with people by phone, on messaging apps or websites.
Chatbots can look up information, answer frequently(经常地)asked questions and collect information from users. They can also be used for online shopping to help people decide what to buy.
There are two kinds of chatbots: open and closed. A closed chatbot may or may not use AI to understand messages from users. An open chatbot uses AI to know what people want and to create a reply. Open chatbots are able to learn from their conversations and then improve their ability to communicate over time. This means that open chatbots can answer a wider range(范围)of questions, compared with closed chatbots.
One important advantage of chatbots is that they are available all the time. You can even use it at midnight. What’s more, one chatbot can serve many users at once. This means that people can get answers quickly instead of waiting for the reply of a human agent.
________ Someone has to programme the chatbots at the beginning and train them. Sometimes, open chatbots can’t give answers to certain questions. Besides, many people prefer speaking to a human rather than a chatbot.
61.What is the chatbot
A.A website. B.A messaging app.
C.A technology company. D.A computer programme.
62.What can chatbots do according to the second paragraph
A.Keep personal information safe. B.Answer the questions of their users.
C.Buy necessary things for their users. D.Help people make important decisions.
63.What is the difference between open chatbots and closed chatbots
A.Closed chatbots reply more quickly.
B.Closed chatbots are better at communicating.
C.Open chatbots answer questions on more topics.
D.Open chatbots don’t use AI to understand questions.
64.Which of the following can be put into ________
A.However, chatbots can’t take the place of humans.
B.Human agents and chatbots are good partners.
C.To solve the problem, humans are necessary.
D.Chatbots can do a great job by themselves.

A girl shares her different middle school experiences. How time flies! I have studied in my middle school in Hong Kong for more than three months. At first, I was really not sure about everything, but now I feel more confident, and I really love my school. In Hong Kong, schools give students a lot of free time to help students learn how to manage their time. Our school day ends around 2 or 3 p. m. every day, so students can join interest classes and school clubs after school. I join the swimming team practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. However, the rules here are quite strict. During the first week, we got a handbook (手册). It has rules, they are homework, hair and what to wear. If our hair reaches our shoulders, we have to tie it up. We must wear white socks and sports shoes. As for schoolwork, we have to hand it in on time. If we don’t follow the rules, we will lose points and have to write a reflection (自我反省) about it. The balance between free time and strict rules shaped my learning experience. To My School
By Li Ping
How time flies! My three-year middle school life will come to an end soon. I’d like to say something.
Our school has a beautiful environment. The teachers and classmates are very friendly. It is my honor to study and live in this school. I have a lot of good memories here.
The most unforgettable activity I did while in middle school was that I raised the national flag for the first time. That happened in Grade 7. To get this done perfectly, I practiced over and over again. I felt tired but I didn’t give up. I said to myself, “No one succeeds without effort. Only practice makes perfect.” In the end, I succeeded in raising the national flag that Monday morning.
I hope our school can get better and better.
