一、教学内容分析
本课时为阅读课,阅读的语篇为两封书信。在第一封信中,Alice向Dr Know倾诉自己有太多规则需要遵守,比如:早餐前必须整理床铺、不可以迟到、在班里不可以使用手机、上学日不可以和朋友闲逛等等。她被这些规则困扰,希望得到Dr Know的建议。第二封是Dr Know给Alice的回信。Dr Know在信中为Alice解释了制定规则的原因,阐述了规则存在的意义,并且给了她一些建议。本课时学生将通过阅读语篇积累大量词汇,明确规则存在的意义。学生在阅读过程中将学习如何快速抓取并梳理文章的主要信息,如何面对问题并解决问题,从而提升自己的阅读理解能力和思维品质。
二、语篇分析
【What】 本课时包含两封书信。在第一封信中,Alice向Dr Know倾诉自己有太多规则需要遵守,比如:早餐前必须整理床铺、不可以迟到、在班里不可以使用手机、上学日不可以和朋友闲逛等等。她被这些规则困扰,希望得到Dr Know的建议。第二封是Dr Know给Alice的回信。Dr Know在信中为Alice解释了制定规则的原因,阐述了规则存在的意义,并且给了她一些建议。 【Why】 本课时的语篇为两封书信,对学生的生活具有一定的指导意义。学生通过阅读第一封信可以明白人人都有规则需要遵守,如果自己被太多的规则困扰,也可以像Alice一样,向自己信任的人倾诉并征求建议。读完第二封信后又会豁然开朗,明白规则的意义和作用,收获一些实用性的建议,对于自身如何正确看待规则并遵守规则起到了帮助作用。 【How】 本课时的语篇从体裁上来说属于应用文中的书信,遵循了书信的传统格式。语篇大量使用情态动词can / have to / must,主要涉及谈论规则的表达法,如“I have to hurry to school because l can’t be late for school. You mustn’t be late for class.”等。语篇语言符合人物的身份特征,通俗易懂、实用性强。
三、学情分析
学生在本单元前几课时中,已经学习了如何使用情态动词can / have to / must等谈论规则,这为本课阅读理解文章做了铺垫。本课出现了大量生词,会给学生理解文本带来一定的障碍,因此读前先让学生在语境中学习了部分生词,以降低学生阅读理解文章的难度。本课设置的课堂任务(判断正误、完成表格、回答问题、角色扮演、简单写作等)难易程度均适合七年级学生的能力水平,大多数同学应该能够独立或结对完成。
四、教学目标
通过本课时的学习,学生能够: 1. 读懂两封谈论规则的书信,并能获取书信中的细节信息; 2. 与同伴谈论生活中的规则,并就规则是否合理发表自己的看法; 3. 正确看待规则,认识到制定规则的意义。

六、教学活动设计
环节一:借助图片,谈论自己身边的规则。(10 mins) 学生在图片的帮助下谈论自己都有哪些校规和家规,谈谈自己对这些规则的看法,同时在谈论过程中学习一些新词汇。

环节二:通过一系列听、读任务,获取语篇信息。(20 mins) 学生听第一封信,回答问题,然后阅读第一封信判断正误,最后再次阅读第一封信完成表格。学生首先进行读前预测,然后听第二封信,勾选正确答案,接着读第二封信写出信中提到的规则制定的意义,最后再读第二封信完成表格内容。

环节设计意图:让学生在完成一系列阅读任务的过程中,学会准确抓取文本的主要信息,提升学生的阅读理解能力。通过对一些问题的思考提升思维品质。
环节三:读后开展口语表达训练,联系自身生活实际,谈论自己身边的规则困扰,并相互给对方提出合理建议。(15 mins) 教师播放录音,让学生跟读文本,然后进行角色扮演,模仿Alice和Dr Know进行面对面的谈话,最后写一写自己在面对规则时存在的问题,与同伴交换,并互相给对方提出合理建议。

环节设计意图:通过跟读课文、角色扮演,帮助学生进一步巩固课本内容,提升学生的语言运用能力。通过写问题和建议,帮助学生运用所学语言解决实际问题,并在活动过程中认识到规则的意义,学会如何正确面对问题和处理问题。
