元音字母u及其字母组合的发音规律
(1) 元音字母u在重读开音节中最常见的发音是字母本音 ,如music, student, introduce等;有时可以发 ,如rule, blue, glue等。
(2) 元音字母 u在重读闭音节中一般发 ,如but, just, husband等。
(3) 元音字母u还可以发 ,特别是在爆破音 或 后,如put, pull, push, full等。
(4) 字母组合ure常发 ,如sure, cure, pure等。

句子重读和弱读
一般来说,承载句子中重要信息的单词需要重读,而功能词会弱读。
内容信息词(重读) 功能词(弱读)
名词、实义动词、形容词、名词性物主代词、疑问词、副词、否定缩略词等 冠词、助动词、人称代词、形容要给你看性物主代词、介词、连词等
按照上面表格所给的句子重读规则,可以这样标注下列对话(下划线部分为重读单词):

A: Let’s meet at three o’clock.
B: Sure.
上面对话中需要重读的词有疑问词(what, when)、实义动词(do, walk, like, play, love, meet, let)、名词(dog, football, sports, park, clock)、副词(yes, sure)等,一般会弱读的词有冠词(the)、助动词(are, am)、情态动词(would, shall)、人称代词(you, I, me, we)、介词(with, at)等。
以上只是句子重读的一般规律,具体需要根据上下文语境判断重读什么词。如:
Linda: Your phone is ringing.
David: It’s not my phone. It’s your phone!
一般来说,物主代词不用重读,如Linda提醒David时会弱读your,但David回话时却重读了物主代词my和your,强调响铃的不是“我的电话”,而是“你的电话”。
