(2)这些花的香味引起我对往事的回忆。 The smell of these flowers brings my memories. aboutback一、情态动词的概述语法突破——情态动词情态动词 概念 位置 特点表示说话人的情绪、态度或语气的动词。 置于谓语动词前,若谓语动词前有助动词,则置于助动词前。在疑问句中,情态动词置于主语前。 本身有一定词义,但不能单独作谓语,只能和其他动词原形一起构成谓语。没有人称和数的变化。二、情态动词的分类和用法功能 情态动词 用法表能力 can,could 可以表示现在、将来和过去的能力。表许可 can,could,may,might 过去式比现在式更委婉,回答时用现在式。过去“许可”用过去式。表意志 will,would,shall,should 过去式比现在式更委婉,回答时还是用现在式答。过去“意志”用过去式。表义务 must,have to,should,ought to must侧重主观意志,have to侧重客观需要。ought to比should语气更肯定。续表:功能 情态动词 用法表猜测 can,could,may, might,must,will, would,should,ought to 对“现在”猜测。过去式表猜测的“把握性”要低点。对“过去”猜测。情态动词+have+done来表示。表责备 should,shouldn’t, ought to,needn’t should/ought to+have+done本该做的事没有做;shouldn’t/oughtn’t to/needn’t +have+done不该或不必做的却做了。三、几组情态动词的用法对比1.can和be able to用法对比 用法相同 不同can 表示做事能力时,两者可以通用。在否定句中,couldn’t 与was/were not able to可以互换。没有进行时态。 can只有一般现在时和一般过去时。can表“可能”;用于疑问句中表示提出委婉的请求。be able to 经过努力而成功的某一次动作,只能用was/were able to,而不能用could。be able to还可以用于将来时和完成时等时态。2.have to和must用法对比 用法must 表示说话人主观上的看法。must只有一种形式。在否定结构中,mustn’t 表示“禁止”。have to 表示客观的需要。有人称、数、时态的变化。在否定结构中:don’t have to表示“不必”。3.should和ought to用法对比 用法相同 不同should “应该,本该”。无人称和时态的变化。接完成式时,表示该做的事而未做,常含责备之意。 表示说话者的一种主观看法。ought to 强调道义、法律所规定的职责。4.need和dare的用法对比 用法相同 不同need 作情态动词,没有人称和数的变化,也没有时态的变化。作实义动词,有人称和数以及时态的变化。 作情态动词,用于疑问句和否定句中。作实义动词,后接名词、动名词或动词不定式作宾语。dare 作情态动词,用于疑问句、否定句和条件句中。作实义动词,后接不定式作宾语。5.had better和would rather的用法对比 用法had better “最好”,后接动词的原形。接完成式时,表示与事实相反的结果,意为“本来最好”。would rather “宁可……,宁愿……”,后接动词原形。后接从句时,从句谓语动词要用虚拟语气。would rather do...than do...“宁可(愿)……,(而)不要(愿)……”“与其……,不如……”,rather和than后都接动词原形。后接动词的完成式,表示“结果事与愿违”。四、情态动词的问答 一般疑问句 肯定回答 否定回答can/could 能力:Can you swim Yes,I can.
