1.The people in the large picture are in Shanghai. We can see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower (东方明珠广播电视塔) by the side of the Huangpu River. The smaller picture is Toronto /t 'r nt u/, as can be seen by the large sign (标志) saying "TORONTO".
2.Some people are rowing (划船) and many are standing next to the river.
Because the earth rotates (旋转) around the sun, when the sun shines on one side (daytime), it is dark on the other side (nighttime).
Shanghai is in the UTC+8 time zone(时区), which means it is 8 hours ahead of UTC. Toronto is in the UTC-5 time zone, which means it is 5 hours behind UTC.
Shanghai is 13 hours ahead of Toronto. If it's 10:00 AM in Shanghai (UTC+8), then in Toronto (UTC-5), it would be 9:00 PM on the previous day.
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time，协调世界时) 是全球时间标准，用于协调和统一世界各地的时间。
We can see in this photo that it is daytime 白天in Shanghai, while it is nighttime黑夜in Toronto.

已知西五区的纽约为上午9点，林林所在的东八区的北京是几点呢？
根据“东加西减”原则。向东数越过了13个时区，加13小时，上午9点 + 13小时 = 晚上10点。

3.以重读闭音节结尾且末尾只有一个辅音字母的动词，, 双写辅音字母, 再加-ing.如:shopping
重读闭音节三要素：
1. 必须是重读音节；
2. 最后只有一个辅音字母；
3. 元音字母发短元音
什么是重读闭音节？
4.以ie结尾的词变ie为y，再加-ing. 如: lie躺--lying tie系--tying
